When you spend the $$ he does you will! Besides using non impact on smaller or un seized bolts won’t break them! Now using a 36 mm non impact on a seized nut will , been there done that! Now I own a 36 mm impact rated socket!

The agri lads I’m working with st the moment (Canada, Fendt/McHale dealer) and they say the Snap-On impact swivel sockets are a godsend for working on dirty gear. Even the lads that hate spending $$ on Snap-On rate them.

I cringe when I see someone using Snapon sockets on an impact. Quality tools should be looked after not abused and hope they give you a new one when it breaks.

It’s not hard to find out that 99.9 % of damage will be an operator , people don’t look after the tackle these days , no appreciation for the job. Be a different storey if they had to pay for the damage out of there wages.

Good morning Baz love watching your Channel you are a proper old school you do things as they are supposed to be done. You are conscious of cost and care to equipment and respect the machinery like one should. Unfortunately that attitude i see very little nowadays you certainly explain things in a way that someone like me feels confident in trying to do things i would never had you are good guy baz and our Directpr for bringing this to us. It's good to still see some old school mentality. Where you know it will be cheaper and better to make your own than buy overpriced manufacturers throw away parts. The money in brand new RoRo boxes are crazy and yours will be better made with it being an ex tipper box. Keep up the great work boys👍

You could weild a 2inch strip on the cleaning bar at say 30 degrees, set the strip on to the bar about 1/4 of a inch back so it acts like a ramp then thire is no butt end as it goes over the cleaning bar.

Hi Bazz and the family. Nice mix of content and problem solving. That backdoor swing on those tippers look so so simple but work very well, simple engineering!!!. Calm should have a made by plaque welded to that tipper trailer 😎 Till the next one stay safe.

Do you have access to a kiln or furnace... Like straightening a connector rod on a piston, build a jig, 70mm pin weld prepped and welded to a mount, bolted down non movable, then get a long 70 mil pin/bar on the part that needs to untwist...then hork on it..once straight, press the bushings out, and all the zerks...heat and normalize the bar to reduce all the stresses, then push in new bushings and zerks done.... Very cool on the fixes and stuff...and the field expedient "trackframe press" was pretty awesome...good to have experienced operators Keep em coming!!!!

Great content , I first came across your channel whilst watching the Baxenden boys. I work for an engineering company but we are at the opposite end of what you do , we mainly work with 0.2mm thick to 3mm thick both ferrous and non ferrous materials, so I love to see how different things are working with the really heavy stuff…….. Keep doing what you do , great channel, great bunch of guys 👍🙏👍

Great video, Baz and co. If your hitachi has snapped the crowd ram pin 3 times now, I’d be checking port relief pressures on the bucket and dipper rams. It could be over-pressurising the rams causing the tip links to bend and biting on the pin. Causing it to snap.

@@welderfabber definitely possible. Especially if the hitches are the same size as the 20 tonners (I think that’s what you said?). Might find some operators putting bigger buckets than usual on them. Causing more stress in the arm than usual.

Just a story from 1973 I put up support scaffolds between floors on Lily mill no 1 while a firm of assessors loaded them with barrels of water to create a weight test for loadings per sq metre before submitting them to Littlewoods stores .They had bought the Mill from Carrington Vyella for the princely sum of one pound, the purchase had to be completed before the test so there was a gamble on the outcome of the test. Littlewoods then went on to convert the mill into a automatic stock picking warehouse the weight testing was to assess the floor deveation from the tons of automation that would eventually be installed the floor deveation was nil, those mills were built like brick *hithouses. We also scaffolded the rope race which all the belt drives to the looms went from the main steam engine before it was converted to electricity .The rope race was clear from top to bottom 80ft high 20 foot square like a lift shaft and the outside perimiter wall was eight foot thick.this rope race was eventuallyl used to install new Lifts for the warehouse to take bigger loads than a normal lift.

Hi Baz, the 2 link arms on the hitachi, could you get them onto the bench and weld a heavy gusset in between them, to make it more like an H link? Like a big chunk of 2” flat bar or something? Great video again👍

Good fix Baz, next time hold one end in the press and you might be able to wring it with some heat and big bar. Fix them and keep as spares.

That is called a Ezy ride Hendrickson spring it's meant to be better ride like fark they are. Those shorter springs will work still we had maybe 20 of them in older vehicles

Hi Baz would it be better seeing as the arms are cast to take out the sleeves on one end match the other end and put in oversized sleeves and then line bore the end so it would be straight. Baz it is just an idea seams like it might be better than twisting it and taking a chance of breaking it and having to buying another arm and still having to line bordering to match it. Baz you are a much smarter than me my friend I cannot wait for your new chapters to come out as I have said in the past you are brilliant Cheers my friend

Used chrome on the impact many a time. Only ever broken a 15mm on a 1/2 inch big ass Milwaukee.

I would of stress relieved / flame straightened the link , did 7 years at matbro doing the loader shovels ,Tele handlers , we used to not just warm but roll on the oxygen from neutral flame just till you get pointed comes , but watch the like lemonade bubbles washing away, you know this shrinks , so a twist , hit the link arm one side on left middle, flip over and heat left middle again , the links on dipper look fabricated not cast steel ,be interesting if the plate and boss ones ever bend/ twist or just cast links,all the best

The reasoning behind the different sizes nuts and bolts is so you don't have to double up on spanners and sockets. Blame the Japanese as they came up with the idea. It confused the hell out of me when I first emigrated to Australia from the UK as I was used to using 10mm for M6,13mm for M8 etc 🙄😆

Yes cutting a ram, was told it was not hollow. Got a fireball to the face and twisted my knee really bad after the fall...Lesson learned never take any1s word.

Another great video Baz and team, On the excavator linkage would it strenthen the 2 link arms if you braced the 2 arms together by welding in 1 or 2 supports between them, I remember this on a on a few older models of excavators ,
