Thanks for showing the liner. Lots of people talk about it, but I've never seen anyone actually remove it before.

Hey Dan, Great tips and information video, really helps me understand the operation of a MIG Welder, Like I said I have never done any MIG Welding, but am learning alot on your channel. Who knows one day I'll go over to my Son-in Laws and teach him how to MIG weld the right way! LOL! Thanks again, I think I'll go and buy one of those hats and give to him, I'll get one for myself one day when I earn the right to wear it!, Take care>

Hey Dan, Great videos! I have a Blue Point 135 MIG. I have problems with feed and since I just found your videos I'm still checking things out. The feed roller is knurled. I am using solid wire. I dont have a smooth roller, is this critical? Also the roller is labeled on one side 0.8 and 0.6 on the other. I believe that 0.8 is for sizes 30&35 and 0.6 is for 24. that is unless the sizes change on a knurled roller. Any thoughts will be very appreciated.

Great advice, Dan. When it comes to contact tips - definitely penny wise and pound foolish to try to stretch the lifespan out on them. For just a buck or two, there's no sense in creating a lousy welding session and messing up some perfectly good metal. Last time I checked, metal costs WAY more than a new contact tip! :-)

I've got a millermatic 180 and had a small spool of 30 wire that fed fine for a while then it wouldn't feed through the tip because of the tension of the wire wanting to curve as it came out. Tried adding more tension to the drive roller but still wouldn't work. Switched to a large spool and less tension and it was fine. Ever heard of that situation? Really like your videos. Thanks

Hi Dan, I've bought one of the sealey 100amp flux core welders a bit like the harbour freight ones. It works pretty good and has helped restore my truck back. I notice that you have a protective sheath on your welder instead of a shroud. Where can I get one of those and what is it called? As the shroud kind of gets in the way. Thanks and keep up the good work.

cyberspak It's referred to as a flux cored welding nozzle. A lot of mig welders seem to be compatible with Tweeco style mig guns, and so is Lincoln. I mention this because Lincoln produces these nozzles and may fit your gun if it is Tweeko compatible, but you'd have to check into that. Good luck.

hello there, just got a mig welder 130. I'm eager to use it but I have the problem that it keeps feeding wire when i press the trigger even though it's set to 0 on the wire knob. Do you have any suggestions I what could possibly be wrong? thank you

Hello Dan, great video.. I have a millermatic 140 welding .030 solid core.. I have a problem with the autoset feeding too fast and making bird welds. No matter what it welds sheet metal or 1/8 steel it wont weld like new. If i take it off autoset and try manual set it (to slow it down) it welds better but still not right, no matter what i do. Liner is new and clean. Have any ideas what the problem could be?? thanks

I have lincoln idealarc model R3S-325 LN-7 mug weld machine from factory date when should machine be maintenance ,and calibrated and what are some signs it needs to be maintenance and can I do it myself and how . thank you for your time
@WeldFever
@WeldFever 9 жыл бұрын
+Charles Pendergraft Usually maintenance is based on usage and not necessarily by date. You choose periodically blow the machine out with compressed air. If you use flux core, you should remove the gun and blow out the liner with compressed air every time you replace a spool of wire. Other than that, read your manufacturer's recommendations, but there should;t be too much more you will need to do, so long as you use recommended gasses and wire, and of course, don't abuse your machine!

+dennis divina First and foremost, make sure you have a good work (ground) connection. Preferably connected to the piece you are welding. Then make sure all of your connections are secure (cables and such) and finally, make sure if your machine's dials have stops, or detents, that your dial is set squarely on the detent, and not hanging in the middle of two. Good luck
