I’ve read some negative reviews here and am surprised by the issues some of you are having. The people who complain about the headgear need to take the time to properly adjust the hood to their head. Optrel has terrific customer service, I had an issue with the crystal 2.0 papr and contacted customer service and it was resolved in minutes. I’ve used a crystal 2.0 papr for 6 months now in some terrible environments ( I’m a heavy equipment field technician specializing in welding and line boring.) and besides having one issue that was sorted out immediately I haven’t had one issue with the hood or the papr. I’d recommend optrel to anyone.

Just subscribed. I own 2 Optrel hoods. I’m normally a Miller nut, but the best hoods available are Optrel. What nobody has done yet is to simply affix a sweat gasket to the inside viewing sheet. The protective plastic sheet over the screen on the inside of the helmet gets moisture trapped from sweat off your face. A simple gasket on that protective sheet to seal it against the electronic screen would prevent moisture from getting trapped between those two surfaces, causing you to waste time removing the protective screen to wipe both the electronic screen and the protective screen. You’d still need to wipe off the surface of the protective screen, but that only takes 10 seconds to do. This is one more thing Optrel can do to stay ahead of the competition. I want to buy your newest helmet, it looks great!

I'm interested in buying the Quattro. Will you do an in depth video of the hood to include a view through the lense while welding. Include all forms of welding please.

You guys need to move the grind mode light somewhere you can actually see it or make it brighter or bigger or a better color… I get flashed a lot with my crystal 2.0 because the light is up out of view. Other than that it’s a nice hood

Thank you for the feedback. That's the first time we've heard that about the grind light. Our Panoramaxx series offers the grind light on the outside of the hood.

Return it. Bought mine 2 months ago and it spent 1.5 months in their center being repaired with 4 different brand new lens that all failed within 15 min of use for each one sensor in the middle fails and starts strobing and flashing you when welding. Horrible helmet for the money.

@@That_Black_Menace hopefully mine won’t do that I know two people who have it and they are both very happy with it so far and it’s been more than a couple of months. That sucks that that happened to your helmet they should have given you a new one instead of repairing it

I just wish the lenses lasted longer they scratch so easy and if you are welding over head yes it's slides off the side but they burns so easy you have to change them often and sucks when they are that expensive

Thank you for your feedback. During a recent field evaluation of all major welding helmet brands, one of the top 5 shipbuilders in the US stated our front cover lenses lasted roughly 80% longer than standard flat lenses. Our hoods are designed so that the lens does not touch any flat surfaces when they lay flat. While several of our designs allow for overhead welding the nature of that type of welding lends itself to frequent front cover lens changes.

@@OptrelUS I've been welding in the field for 16 years do alot of boilers and alot of work in refineries while I do like your hoods have had the 2.5 and currently using the crystal 2.0 there are times I prefer the flat 2x4 welding lense because they don't seem to get black burn spots as easily and are cheaper don't get me wrong I love your hoods just not the cover lenses they scuff and scratch and also get burn spots entirely to easy just an opinion from someone who has used your hood in the field for a long time also the inside lenses while we are at it scratch to easy so if your working in a dusty dirty environment and need to wipe it off it won't wipe clean just scratch it has literally been my only complaint I've ever had on your hoods

I would like to see that XD and during those tests the tester will have a 300A arc and consume the entire MiG 15kg coil of 1mm wire. Then I want to see what it will look like... It may be true that it lasts 80% longer than flat, but it is 10 times more expensive ... and I prefer to change the protective glass more often so that I can see beautifully and not damage my eyesight, and this is what someone who has been welding Mig/Tig for 15 years tells you, I don't want to discredit you somehow but the hood is seriously bad and if a person were to bite through it all, the prices of the consumables are simply excessive. Why didn't you place the rubber seal directly on the hood and not on the glass ... that way, according to what is in the video, it might not be so expensive ...

I have the panoramaxx. That being said I wish optrel would buy a speedglas9100 head gear and reverse engineer it. Cause the optrel head gear is terrible

@@OptrelUSthe original, not isofit. Its not the headgear really. It's the pivot point. It will not stay up unless you crank it down. Then it won't come down. My speedglas has a detent that is adjusted on one side and the other side is a adjustable brake.

Bought a panormaxx clt 2 months ago and it spent 1.5 months in their center being repaired with 4 different brand new lens that all failed within 15 min of use for each one sensor in the middle fails and starts strobing and flashing you when welding. Horrible helmet for the money. Literally out of the box it failed first weld. Optrel has replaced the entire lens and still can't fix it which tells you one thing. Their lens in the clt/panormaxx are piss poor quality if 4 of them brand new failed repeatedly. Hesitant to buy from them again but might take my chances with the crystal 2.0 since I'm told it's much better and much more durable., Ps, and otrel rep told me that the oanirmaxx clt is one of their most warrientied models and the crystal 2.0 is one of the least warrentied models. Take that how you may I take it as buy the crystal 2.0 instead. Also the iso fit headgear is trash

Thank you for your feedback. We take pride in our warranty service; generally, our warranty claims are processed within 48 hours or less. We did have a covid outbreak in the spring that impacted our timing. If multiple units are having the same failure we can attribute that to environmental conditions. I'm surprised we sent out 4 helmets when you kept having the same issue. We should have learned more about your environment. Please email us at info_us@optrel.com so we can better understand your working conditions.

I agree, unfortunately I also bought Opt. Panoramaxx quatro, one of the things I seriously regret. the whole cassette is not sealed at all... it is literally exposed to all the impurities that naturally occur during the work for which the product is intended. the front protection glass is expensive and the polycarbonate material causes unpleasant reflections during welding, the rubbing glass is literally a bad joke, it's just thrown in there, the back is not sealed and again the price is high, I don't understand why, it's ordinary plastic and flat design. All of this could somehow be excused, but the function of the hood itself is inexcusable, the sensors that are supposed to ensure darkening are either of low quality or the entire electronics are of dubious production. My hood often flashes when scoring or stitching more welds because it darkens later... The overall design is bad, I'm constantly getting loose balls behind my neck or directly in the front part of the hood where you have the cartridge. I don't understand why an otherwise simply wonderful idea is so totally fucked up in every way, I would definitely never buy it again, my old Kowax 820+ has been working for 3 years, zero operating costs, high durability and has never failed me and I can rely on it and that's it "China" which is absolutely fine... and they also have the front glass sealed with a rubber seal and still it costs only 0.40 Euro per piece
