When you are threading the pipe I notice that you take the adjustment back to the 2 inch line every time, then adjust it back out about a quarter of an inch. Is this the proper way to do that? And why? I have always made adjustments from the 2 inch line on the threader head and left it alone in order to get the proper depth. Is this okay? Would this cause premature die wear I’m guessing?

The purpose for returning the adjustment back to the 2" mark is simply to go back to the reference point. Since all pipe diameters have allowances of acceptance tollerance, two pipes of the same size could have different diametricals. Out of round as slight as .005 could require adjustment. Also, material wall thickness will impact adjustment. Thank you for taking the time to express interest.
