My name is Jay Swanson - I'm an American writer living in Paris on an artist visa. Paris (yes the one in France) has been my home for years now and I have every intention of staying here for as long as they'll have me. I write science-fiction and fantasy, vlogged daily for 3+ years, and love pizza a little too much. Now I make videos about visiting Paris, traveling in Europe, and try to share what I've learned along the way. I hope you enjoyed what you found.

Sooo fun! I found Paul, par hasard, on the night of his unforgettable ride around Paris on his trottinette, with a camera taped to his helmet, during the Covid lockdown. It had been a long time since I laughed so hard! I’ve been watching him ever since! I found you, also, par hasard (France being the siren’s call), around about the same time, and I have been watching you ever since, as well. His vlogs are always fun, like watching a comedy show, and I like them a lot. Your vlogs, however, are truly exceptional; and you always have something memorable to share…be it funny, introspective, or touching. You are a super storyteller, and you come across as a person of great integrity and kindness. I try to never miss one of your videos!

We were lucky enough to grab some tickets and saw the show, it was fantastic. I came across Paul when studying French to move here, and at the same time was watching this channel to learn more about our now home. It blew my mind when I first found you together. I think your story about fun and friendship hits harder given the content in the show (no spoilers), but it especially hits home as we had a bunch of friends with whom we always went out drinking. So much so that we named ourselves the every weekend crew. The memories are great, but the nights for revelry (or entire weekends) slowed from COVID and just plain getting older. Cherish the memories, even the embarrassing ones, and keep sharing. It helps remind me of my friendships, especially when they are far away.

I bow low & elegantly in Paul's direction, that is a career defining accomplishment. My deepest congratulations! I did try to get over for the show but to no avail. (Last time I was backstage at the Zenith was with the PIL guys in 1986. I believe the day after, I felt much the same as Jay in this video... 🤣 🤣 🤣)

Me and my Frenchie rarely if ever drink, as an example, we were gifted bottles of wine and champagne for holidays that sat in our kitchen cabinet untouched and almost forgotten for a couple of years, or like how my Frenchie's dad wanted to gift us a wine fridge once and I was like that nice but you know I'm gonna use it for kimchi instead of wine, right, lol. Before these winter holidays I think we had maybe 4 glasses of beer and 2 glasses of wine for the WHOLE YEAR!! That's nothing for people that consume alcohol. Anyways, winter holidays are when we drink the most, even though it's still less than what "normal drinkers drink" and just last night we both had just a half a glass of cidre each with some friends, and even that night, not even the next morning, we both felt like complete shit. We both kinda agreed the after effects of drinking were outweighing the pleasure of the in-moment taste or whatever, so I think we're gonna just not drink, lol, and see what happens. I still cook with it sometimes, but not often.

The one wheel to rule them all, and in the darkness bind them? It's in storage. Started getting a little iffy at top speed, one of the gyros would randomly kick off for a second, and after a couple of scary lurches I decided to retire it. Might have to try out a new one someday

(French here). Gotta be honest, first time I ever saw Paul Taylor was his "WTF France" bit which was on TV, I was at some relatives' place as I don't have a TV personally. It was the one about the level of English of French people or something. I found it clichéd, condescending, and honestly not funny. My very first impression of Paul Taylor was that of a no-talent guy who found a niche in the bilingual, English personality trope. He then grew on me, I've come to appreciate his humor more, but... rough beginnings

10:52…you said it was embarrassing…I think I know where you’re going. I ended keto abruptly to go to my brewer friends tap takeover. Started at his house tasting experimental beers. Ended at a dive bar. 🤮🤦🏾‍♀️ 1st and only time that’s happened to me. 🫣 Now, with the rest of the video. 😁 As I expected. Sometimes, it’s best not to make it home, before horrible things happen. 😜
