Very enjoyable and informative tour of cathedral and gardens. As you say, it's a gem of medieval architecture - and impossible to comprehend in all its symbolic variety and architectural detail. Wonderful stuff and look forward to the next one.

Great filming 🎥 Sam. Those "Gothic Arches" always remind me of studying 📖 Marfans syndrome at college. The hard palate of the subject is so described! in its shape. Garden/ponds reminds me of a Monet painting 🖼. Bravo.

Thank you for this video Sam. I visited Wells Cathedral briefly during a bus tour stop in 2006. As usual, there wasn't enough time to see all of the cathedral. I did make it to the Bishop's Palace, but never got to see the Bishop's Garden. Thanks to you, I've seen it and other parts of the cathedral I missed all those years ago.

Another wonderful video. I visited Wells with a friend after a day and night spent in Bath. I recall a lot of white painted interior walls which do not seem to be in evidence in your video. We seemed to gain entrance from a street, so I do not recall seeing the proper outside view of the Cathedral. i do recall being approached and being charged ten pounds for a licence to take photographs. Those pictures do not seem to have come out though. Being 1999 it was back in my 35 mm film days. Thankyou for an excellent production. This is th youngest of your's I have seen. Gotta get back to working through the old ones. Cheerio for now

Hi Sam, thats my kind of ending!! Its a lovely clock, I think I must have seen the original one in the science museum. The scissors shape buttresses are really quite something. Seeing all masonry made me think of Rosslyn Chapel near Edinburgh well worth visiting if you venture up there, it appears in the Da Vince code. Was that your daughter hiding behind you, I think so😅😅 Wells might be one of the smallest cities, but there is only one island city in the UK .... I didn't know the reason behind the name of the city, perhaps it should have been called "Well, Well, Well" ..... Been taking a break from KZfaq, I'll catch up with ones Ive missed soon, all the best!!

@@SamWalksALot Hi Sam, I'm well, thanks for asking. Its been a difficult time recently for us as my father passed away just over a month ago now, so it knocked me for six for a while. I posted a picture of him and me yesterday at Fort Purbrook where he took me exploring as a little boy. Going to post something from nearby to the Fort later today, its the kind of place you would like to see ...... Don't get too excited mind!! Your going to have to give your daughter a speaking part!!
