We Love Doodles

Күн бұрын

📢 Poodles are pretty cool, aren’t they? Many of you must agree with us there, since there are so many poodle mixes and it seems like a new Doodle comes around every year or so, too! Even as more and more poodle mixes burst onto the scene, the dog community just can’t seem to tear themselves away from the Maltipoo, and for good reason! There’s a lot more to this dog than meets the eye, though, and so make sure you stick around until the end of the video, since today we are going to break down the Maltipoo’s quirks, personality, habits, and more for you guys!
👉 A Quick Overview
🐶 Humble Origins
Although there is a bit of contention here, most sources claim that the Maltipoo came to be somewhere in the country of Malta in the early to mid 90s. The Maltipoo was bred to be a hypoallergenic option for families looking for a dog that could fit into their dynamic with minimal fuss.
🐶 Maltipoo 101
An important thing to know about Maltipoos, which is the case for almost all poodle mixes, is that they can vary from generation to generation. When most people try and find a doodle for themselves, if they are choosing from a breeder they are usually going to get a second or third generation dog to ensure that it has those coveted poodle genes.
🐶 The Various sizes of the Maltipoo
Besides being able to choose from different generations, the Maltipoo can also come in various sizes as well, further altering the experience for each individual. This is a small dog, however, and so don’t expect the sizes to get all that crazy. For instance, a standard Maltipoo, which is more or less the median size for the breed, will grow to be between 8 and 14 inches as a full-grown adult.
🐶 A Maltipoo’s Temperament and Quirks
Maltipoos, like all dogs, have their own unique personality that makes owning one feel unique, but it also comes with its own set of challenges. Poodles themselves are very smart creatures, and that alone can make for a different kind of relationship between the dog and its owner. Besides being extremely smart, Maltipoos can also be described as loving, playful, and gentle. Whether you have other pets or children, a Maltipoo should not only be able to adapt to the environment, but also thrive in it, as they love family.
🐶 Grooming
When it comes to things like food, most dogs are similar and dog owners can sort of figure it out for themselves, usually. When it comes to grooming a hypoallergenic dog, on the other hand, things can become a bit complicated. The Maltipoo may technically be classified as a non-shedding dog, but that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t lose a little fur here and there.
🐶 Exercise
This is another question that dog owners frequently ask, and so we felt we should at least touch on it for a moment. It’s reported that you should be exercising your Maltipoo for around 10 to 15 minutes per day. Now, of course this can sway a little bit based on how big your dog is, but that’s roughly the mark you want to be aiming for day in and day out.
🐶 Health & Care
Maltipoos tend to be healthy dogs, and on average they can live anywhere from 12 to 15 years. This number is a good goal, but ultimately your Maltipoo’s quality of life is going to be decided by two things: their genetics and their quality of life. Choosing the right breeder, and making sure that you are doing as much research on family history as you can, should help you pick a dog with great genes.
🐶 Cost
Depending on a variety of factors, a Maltipoo can cost anywhere from $1,500 all the way to well over $4,000 from time to time. It’s important to note that things like breeder reputation and demand for that kind of dog are going to heavily weigh into how much you end up paying.

Separation anxiety is (at least in my opinion) so common, because we baby small breeds too much. They are cute and adorable and people love to sleep with them and so on, so it's just a matter of time when they will develop it. I have a maltipoo and almost made the same mistake, but I am being strict and within 2 days I see soo much improvement.

We have a 4 yr old, 4.5 lb white maltipoo. She is so sweet and looooooves our 85 lb black lab. They are best buds. ❤ If she's not playing or eating, she is in someone's lap. I bring her to work with me often. Everyone in the office loves her.

Does she ever accidentally get stepped on by your lab? I have a bigger mixed breed dog and a Maltipoo puppy. They get along amazing and even sleep together. But sometimes she gets stepped on and I don't want her to get hurt. So far no injuries.

We have an 8month old Maltipoo. He has started lifting his leg and peeing on any corner or things on the floor. He even peed on my laundry basket full of clean towels. Can you offer any solution to us. Thank you Di
