I loved this too; thank you Jessica! It's such a little change to train ourselves to call 18-and-older females "women" instead of girls but I think it can make a big impact on our own thinking and the thinking of others around us...

I actually don't entirely agree with this. Although she is legally counted as an adult, the idea that a girl suddenly turns into a mature adult at 18 is what promotes unhealthy predatory behavior by men towards minors and people who just turned 18 and therefore are "legal" to be with. She also calls herself a teenager in the video.

You need to have a wet face for the hyaluronic serum to work by having water for the humectant (the hyaluronic acid) to bring moisture to your skin and not be sticky. :) That product along with the niacinamide , followed by an occlusive moisturizer (the ordinary moisturizing factors) has saved my skin. This routine goes for everyone and all products. You need a wet face for your humectant to bring moisture to the face and you need to seal it in with an occlusive.

When Jessica said it’s sticky I came here to comment: you need to wet your face first ! Also if you didn’t seal your hyaluronic acid with an occlusive it’ll do the opposite thing & dry out the skin ! Also yes I agree on your routine because I do it as well 👌🏾✨

The Katie Jane Hughes method of using Glossier stretch concealer with a fluffy brush as an all over tinted moisturizer, with a powder foundation on spots that need more coverage, is truly golden. Definitely try it that way, it's been a game changer for me.

I make sure to use Hyaluronic acid on damp skin and seal with moisturizer. I've heard if you just use hyaluronic acid on its own, it could actually pull the moisture out of your skin I believe.

If I remember right the current humidity level is important to consider. If the humidity is low there might not be enough moisture in the air to pull from.

Yup it’s good if your skin is damp or after a toner and your skin is still damp

If the humidity is low, the air will try to draw the moisture out of the skin. In *high* humidity, you don’t need an eclusive barrier

Water causes you to lose moisture. The H Acid doesn't. Does absorb better if your skin is wet as in after washing. According to Dr D

My grandmother always said she still felt 18 inside even when she was in her 90s and the mirror would sometimes be jarring because her inside age did not match her outside age. I feel like I’ve always been 30 and now that I’m 37 I still feel 30 lol

I think I'm 21 still even at almost 36! It's crazy. I feel like my mental age is so young. As a recovering addict, I thought it had to do with me drinking and doing drugs at such a young age that I didn't mature right but it seems a lot of people feel the same way.

When olivia said “when I was younger” killed me. Also Jessica looking for an adultier adult...I feel that. I do think it’s great to embrace what makes you you. I used to hate my freckles but love them now and heck people are drawing them on now. Really enjoyed this video today❤️

the stila heavens hue highlighter in kitten is my all time ride or die highlighter! and it’s so slept on. you need to try that shade. it’s gorgeous on the cheeks, inner corner & brow bone! i use a more dense brush to apply it & it looks incredible

I love that Robert Welsh embraces his scar and there is a MUA on the UK series Glow Up that doesn’t cover her port wine stain birth mark any more on purpose and I think that is a great message.

I actually really like the ordinary hyaluronic serum. Apply on damp skin, I don’t pay away the water after I wash my face, or you can spray your skin with some mist. I use two drops for my whole face. A bit of water on your skin help spread it easier. Try that and maybe you’ll like it more!

The Stretch Concealer is my holy grail! I follow Katie Jane Hughes's method of application which is to buff all over the face with a dense tapered brush, and it is GORGEOUS.

Try spraying your face with a hydrating mist before putting on the hyaluronic acid, it’ll help it absorb and feel less sticky

The incredible makeup artist, Katie Jane Hughes (you should definitely follower her if you haven’t!), she uses the Glossier stretch concealer with a brush “all over the face” but just where she needs it. She never uses foundation all over her face. But it looks so beautiful that way!

I love seeing young people do looks like this (and you should embrace it). I think there’s nothing so confident and elegant looking as natural makeup that enhances features rather than trying to cover everything up and fake things in a totally unbelievable way (still waiting for the false eyelash/extension obsession to die lol 😂).

I hear that. I grew up in the 80's and it was all about having fun in the sun. I'm almost 50 now and I have some visible sun damage on my face. Trying to correct it, but it's taking time. Oh well. Better late than never? 🤷🏽♀️

When I was younger I wanted a nose job so bad, to the point were I would cry! Now, I love my nose! I see my family in my facial features, and I believe I "grew into it", my awkward faze was about a decade 😐 but I'm so glad I didn't change myself because I love myself so much more now that I'm older. Younger girls should know how they feel is ok, and we have all been there 💜

That Glossier lip color in Ember reminds me of Clinique Black Lily which I wore for my wedding (Black Honey now). I think this purpley color looks lovely on you, Jessica!

Black Honey has been a go-to for me for over 10 years now. That’s exactly what I thought of when she swatched this color. I think Black Honey swatches even a bit more sheer than the Glossier product though. It’s so pretty on so many people.

in response to the beauty marks and being embarrassed of them when you you were younger, I FELT THAT! I have freckles ALLLL over my face and was always so embarrassed of them and thought they were ugly and wanted them covered up. But the more I tried to cover them, they seemed to stand out more so I would get super discouraged about my skin. It's been up until about a year or two ago when I learned to love them and I noticed since I began accepting them more, the more compliments I would get on them (:

I love trying new looks with makeup, but immediately go back to the look I’m used to seeing on my face lol. That’s what I think of when you follow these tutorials. And I think it’s cool that you sometimes incorporate new things from these 😊
