Tried out the welt pocket with a flap and pocket bag for this week's bonus video. The key thing to keep in mind is the finishing makes this detail shine even more. Have you tried this pocket style?

Hi Kim, thank you for this tutorial, it’s really helpful. I have one question, the inches of fabric taken out from the main bodies (at the pocket area) to form the welt, won’t it affect the Lenght of the main bodies? Are we suppose to add up that allowance from the intial bodies Lenght ?

I never realized how easy welt pockets are. I always just avoided them and made fake pocket flaps and called it a day 🤣 thank you for this tutorial!

Thank you! So many KZfaq videos on this topic just have people doing it and not talking the viewer through it. They're useless. It makes a huge difference to have someone explaining it. I will bookmark this video and use it to guide me through.

I find it amazing the the fabric doesn’t spread when you cut in the triangles-Even if you ate careful. I know it doesn’t but it still amazes me😊

I’m in fashion school at the moment and have to do a welt pocket for an assignment. The way they showed us how to do it was confusing and too many steps... this is so much neater, simpler and cleaner looking. Thank you so much.

Dear Kim, thank you so much for this awesome tutorial. I'm making a jacket for my partner, and I was terrified of sewing welt pockets. The pattern instructions were complicated. Other KZfaq clips lost me. But this one is absolutely brilliant. I was able to make welt pockets because of you. Thank you! I'd love to send you pictures. :)
