I'm a fan of your comparisons, thanks Jayce! Any plan to review in the future high contrast projectors like Xidu/Elephas Q9 or the Wiselazer X5? Maybe they just are rebranded models of something you own already.

What controller do u use in your projector to play android games like pinball etc? Im using ps4 controller but when i paired it to my mi smart projector the remote control (rc) disconnects or wont function well, must have to restart to unpair and reset the rc for it to work?!

Hi again amazing Jayce.After a lot of research and time I think eventually I decide to go either optima HD28e...it will cost me 550 euro and is 3800 ANSI lumens and 30.000 contrast.my question is this one berret picture quality than those?It is DLP with normal lamp .how do you maintain them?How do you clean them eithout voiding the waranty?also I have my f40up that I see now collecting a lot of dust on the lcd panel and it shows like black dots on the screen what should I do?

Nice choice. I love my first projector - Optima HD29Darbee. Turned on to test with MECOOL KD3 lately. Found out that the rainbow issue - lamp bulb is much more than LED light source. And do take note that the bulb brightness will decrease a lot faster than LED. No worries about dust. It's DLP with sealed optics. Bulb is the only thing you need to replace. FYI - one reason that I still keep it - active 3D. Be sure to buy 3D glasses for yours.

So to make things short optoma HD28e for the first year because you have warranty and can't open it you just cleaning the lens.After one year if something is wrong with the projector the you send it for service.i saw a lot of complains on amazon about people having problems after 1 yar with white dots on their screen that was increasing and the image become unwatchable.ist that some broblem from dust inside ?and the colorwheel wouldn't that need also cleaning and replacement after one year .I say these because the manufacture say I should eat the filters and undust it every 3-4months.what do you recommend?

@@filiptripolitis5213 No need to clean DLP sensor. No dust filter as well. And never open DLP projector up by yourself unless you know what you are doing. 😅

Joyce which projector would you recommend for up to 500 euro for everyday use as a tv so most probably LED LCD ?

Never try high quality LCD LED projector, can't comment. Tested DLP projector only. For the price, both WEMAX Dice and Mi Smart Compact Projector are excellent choice.

Hi Jayce, I noticed some "aliasing" in the images of the mi smart projector 1 (every source included netflix, prime, disney plus). Does the mi smart projector 2 have some aliasing as well? Thx 🙏 p.s. is the input lag of the mi smart projector 2 that bad for videogames like platform games? Unfortunately my mii smart projector 1 is broken so I need to buy a new projector. The Dice seems too costly for me.

@@jayceooi okay thx for reply, maybe it's a problem with my internet connection delivers a weak video signal (asdl 7mbit). I should try via blueray disk. And talking about gaming is the in input la of the mii projector 2 very noticeable? I mean playing for example platform games like super Mario feels somehow a bit ruined by the input lag is it very affecting the gameplay? Thx a lot again

@@jayceooi gen 1 on game mode is perfect in my opinion. But gen 1 without game mode is unplayable (other modalities like cinema mode). Is gen 2 with game mode better than gen 1 without game mode activated (gen 1 in cinema mode)? Thx

@@cassiobispodossantos131 BTW, I saw that Dice vs M7 video. FYI, Dice has 2 brightness mode on battery. Dice might be on eco mode (default) in that video which have lower brightness.

Can you suggest a good 4K projector under $2000. Not promoted ones ! I wanted to hear genuine opinion. I need brightness and HDCP support (Not really worried about portable). I am your subscriber for long. But, other than WEMAX , didnt notice any 4k projector review ! Asking people to rate 5 star and giving them goodies is something not right ! Please suggest

Sadly, Nova is the only 4K projector that I have tested yet. I can't comment much on other models that I didn't hand-on. It's twin brother - Xiaomi model is the one below $2000. You can get it @ bit.ly/35oureW

Hi Jayce. Have you ever heard about Formovie Dice projector? Is it the same as Wemax Dice? I found one but lot cheaper than Weemax and trying to compare both. I found one page on which author said they're the same. I came here to ask an expert in projectors. I have to be sure;) I would be grateful for answering my question. Regards

Yes. Not so sure. Hardware should be the same. WEMAX is the latest branding for global market. Formovie (峰米) is for China market only. I believe Formovie Dice is the old stock. WEMAX won't be supporting Formovie Dice. So make sure that your seller supports / warranty it.

Seller said it's brand new but somehow he doesn't sound very convenient. Do you know some kind of application in which I can check time of usage this projector (or any other:)? Best regards

Dear Jayce - i've bought this Formovie Dice and i must say is pretty good. The sound, the image, the weight and size. It has language pack etc. but this thing didn't have Netflix app. And everything i found about installing this app from aptoide tv didn't work. Solution was quite simple - older versions of this app. But I wrote this just to say BIG THANKS! Thanks to You i have this projector and i bought it for less then 500$ (used but mint). And i want to find something that is not portable but much cheaper and with similar specs.

Dice is cool, Mi gen 1 is normal and gen 2 is green. Calibration based on Datacolor SpyderCheckr 24.

Xiaomi gen 1 has better brightness than 2 😮 I think 2 is only better for keystone correction, but of the 3 wemax is the winner

Are gen 1 and gen 2 the same? I mentioned the brightness thing because wemax and gen 1 look similar in brightness, but wemax and gen 2 the 2 looks less bright

U can tweak gen 2's brightness in user mode for it to be more brighter. Wemax has cooler tone and has more ansi lumens than gen1 & 2
