The best thing the Wenja could have possibly done to ensure their survival: They should have tried to adopt the nearest side valley as their new homeland. First of all, it is large enough to provide sufficient hunting grounds for a tribelet of, at best, several hundred people. Unlike the Izila homeland down south (but much like Udam country), said valley forms a natural fortress which could be effortlessly rendered impregnable as it is only accessible through a narrow cave at high altitude the external entrance of which could be easily defended by a single warrior. Considering that the entire tribe has only two warriors in its ranks, their survival depends on putting their limited striking power to the best possible use (the less than flattering light in which Far Cry Primal portrays the rank & file Wenja of both sexes is downright bemusing: While they come across as decidedly more likeable than both Udam and Izila - they neither resort to eating their fellow-humans nor do they burn people to death simply for the hell of it - they are presented as a mentally unstable lot who panic at the slightest sign of trouble. I strongly suspect Takkar knows very well why he prefers "tamed" beasts-of-prey as comrades-in-arms to his fellow-tribesmen.
