amzn.to/3zGDxQ6 Wera Joker Wrenches vs PowerTorque version: Different? Yes. Much better? Well, depends on your needs and expectations. Auto parts stores might carry the PowerTorque version for much less than the price of the Wera. However, the price of the Wera is less then when I got mine. So they are a better deal now.

I have them, got them as a gift and use them more than I expected to. The two big benefits i see are They don’t scratch aluminium fittings and for an every day carry bag the 6004-Small fits a 7/16, 1/2 10mm and 13mm which for the stuff I work on (mix of heavy equipment farm equipment and trucks) comes in very handy for shields and covers.

Why don’t you buy the Knipex wrench set they are so much better.

About 8 years ago I bought this Rothenberger Rotorque torque wrench.. it's an adjustable rack and pinion set up which allows 10mm to a massive 110mm I use very often as I'm a HVAC tech and tensioning flare nuts with it is next level in ease of access, use and confidence of leaks!!

I love mine. Got the whole size range. The one thing that annoys me is for the XL and XXL they don't have the nice smooth polished texture of the other sizes. Its a more rougher and pitted finish.

Price has been only reason I haven’t bought a set of Joker wrenches. Not that they’re high for what they are, just other priorities. Soon though.

I bought the full set of Power Torque years ago. The only piece that I actually used, was their adjustable wrench. There's a slide lock that allows for use as a traditional adjustable. But the ratcheting action is pretty cool.

I wanted to love the Wera but truth is they take a lot of practise and fine hand work. Not saving as much weight as I thought versus their 6003 series. Cool concept but not execution. If someone wants try this functionality, these PowerTorque's may be a good price to dip your toe in. Thanks for the great videos and keeping us tool junkies informed on the latest and greatest.. Please keep them coming.

I have the small wera wrench but in most cases I'm end up using a knipex pliers wrench, the 180 mm is the most used, or just grabbing an adjustable one. The Campagnolo wrench is for bicycles. I have a road bike equipped with Campagnolo components. They are expensive parts but very well designed and durable. But they are focusing more on the road bike groupsets.

Yeah, I think the common size bolt on the axle was a 15mm (track bike axles) Modern E-bikes might also have this same size nut.

@@garyp.7501 I used to rebuild road bike wheels on my Motobecane before they all went to sealed bearings, the cones and lock nuts were all 15 mm as I recall.

@@jack002tuber Sure, but you need flat very narrow "cone" wrenches at least for the inner nut. Pretty sure the size of the cones on those old hubs were one of 4, 13,14,15,16 ... but my memory fades. I still have those wrenches, will have to look.

I got those "Power Torque" but branded something else that I don't remember right now. Got a S, M and L from Princess Auto for about the same price and probably cheaper than the M Wera Joker I've got as well.

I used to prefer Campy on my road bikes. This was back in the friction days. Campy Record and Super Record. Then I went 600 and Dura Ace. But with mountain bikes, the components are all over the place. I still have a handful of Campy bike tools but mostly smaller stuff that actually can be used for other things. During that component transition, I switched over to VAR and Park tools for innovation and price.

I know you where just showing the option and stated quality differences that was great. For all the price shoppers and Harbor freight tool guys why buy tools that are built by people not even making enough to afford a one room apartment to them self and them feel you deserve a job paying over $60,000 a year. Yes maybe you can not fill a whole tool box a once with a bunch of tools that some will only use every other year but at least you will get to support company's paying there employees a living wage. I'm not saying only go for Snap on or tool truck tools but there are some USA, German, Japan and European made tools that are reasonable price and will be more if we stop supporting the China cheep tool market.

This tool has been copied many times. I believe GM bought the rights to the tools which is why power tech has the GM part number. Then I think either the patent expired or it was licensed to anyone and Wera improved on it. I have these, the VDE version, the power tech set and a knipex wrench pliers that harbor freight copied. I use the mini pliers wrench a lot. But because of the size and how you have to manipulate them for the ratcheting action they are sometimes a pain to get in places. Where as these can get into some tighter places or at odd angles that I have trouble manipulating the Plier wrench due to carpal tunnel etc. I use the powertec version when dealing with dirtier equipment, unless I need a little more oomph. My Wera set is used for more refined work and my VDE set is when I’m working on generators, busbars, or big batteries. They don’t replace sockets and wrenches, insulated or not. If bolds or nuts are tourqued down you may need a wrench to break them loose but then these work great in tight quarters when you don’t want to carry all your tools for something quick. A good ratcheting box wrench blow these away, but you can’t always get them in places. Or after breaking a bile union loose. These shine loosening the fittings quickly. They are a niche tool but are a convenience when trying to travel light and fast to make a quick repair.
