Correct. When I came to a point in my life where I felt a need to know God, Judaism was never an option. As far as I was aware, that was for Jews. In my world, believing in God meant becoming a christian, and I was stuck in that for thirty years. Thank God the truth has set me free and I am now a follower of Judaism.

You are right sir! As a former Christian, I identify with this, that although the Christian doctrine is deceptive and idolatrous, we indeed are inclined towards the God of Israel. And your deep understanding of Christianity let me know that you absolutely grasp what's at stake, and your deep understanding of Tanaka and Torah are what gave me an actual and true anchor.

I once learned that when a person comes back during the resurrection of the dead they come back into the same body that they lived in. If a soul lived in 2 different bodies (reincarnation) they come back in both bodies. There are 5 facets to the soul. So one facet could come back in one body and a different facet could come back in a different body. One source claims they come back as they were when they were a 20 yr. old.

That's exactly correct. Satan has his job that God gave him and he continues to do God's will. For he none of his own. The church has totally been deceiving people from the start. There was never a war in heaven. If there was such a thing do you think God forgot to mention it. That's Hellenistic though. The Greek writing isn't God's word it's concocted by men.God explains what he is and what he isn't. He's not a man that he would lie. Repent and worship Hashem. Idolatry is a abomination to Hashem.. I quit the church after I studied my way out of it.We are growing in number. Thanks to the internet you can learn at your pace.The light of the truth will pop on for you.

If you want to convert to Judaism is totally fine but if you are not Jewish then you are a B'nai Noah or Noahide. HaShem has a pact with Noah's descendant. 😉

Answer to the problem of Evil: The Manual of Discipline, one of the Dead Sea Scrolls, says that God created two great spirits, one of truth and one of perversity, the latter being the angel of darkness. 'Through the angel of darkness, however, even those who practice righteousness are liable to error. All their sin and their inequities, all their guilt and their deeds of transgression are the result of his domination; and thus, by God's inscrutable design, will continue until the time appointed by Him.' I finally just read all of Deuteronomy in the Sefaria App and I feel kind of confused because it painted a picture in my mind vastly different from the things I’ve heard in the past… Did Moses become a false prophet near the end of his life? Deuteronomy repeatedly describes extreme wrath and curses from God if the Jews disobeyed his commandments, yet they continue to break the laws and covenant and live decent lives… They don’t destroy the places of worship of false Gods in the holy land (12:2) and they don’t execute evil people spreading evil religions in the holy land… (13:6-9) Both being severe wrongs in God’s eyes… Where are the curses and wrath? Does This mean the writings in Deuteronomy are not all true? It also says to disregard prophets whose words don’t come to pass… 18:22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him. Does that mean Moses became a false prophet who we should all disregard and the commandments and covenant are just creations of his imagination?

Moses never became a false prophet. BI don't know where you got that from. Unfortunately, the curses did come true, culminating in the Holocaust. Jews are human. Most kept the Torah. The problem arose from the Mistake of including the Erev Rav in the exodus. It was they who instigated all the problems. Moses was just trying to rectify their souls, which is needed for the real Messiah to come. Unfortunately, they weren't ready and we suffered the consequences. We also see the blessings coming true before our eyes.
@boliussa
@boliussa Жыл бұрын
Thee are always Jews keeping the Torah and Jews breaking it. And maybe if the ones that keep it do a good enough job then the curses are avoided and the blessing reaped. Also, the rabbis say that the curses won't happen all at the same time.

58:32, Hum? Now I'm confused! I don't understand how נְפִילִים in Hebrew means "fallen" but the Rachi says also means "giants"? It gets better! The "Pirkei DeRabbi Eliezer 22" (Medieval midrash that retells and expands upon the stories of the Torah) explains in detail who the "Nephilims" are. Also, you can find it in "Gen. Rabbah 26:7", and "Targum Jonathan". 😮 According to "Pirkei DeRabbi Eliezer 22", the Nephilims are descendants of Cain! 😮

If the billions who have lived, I think there is going to a space, quantity, food and housing problem, etc. - Any answer given, I believe, will be entirely theoretical because no where in the Tanakh is this addressed/explained, to make the "resurrection of dead" doctrine believable.

The part below is establishing who the iron is and who the clay is. Iron is referring to fallen angels, the very ones that had part in the sins committed in Ge:6 that brought on the flood of water. They were put into the Pit by the saints mentioned by Enoch in the book of Jude and by Moses when he referred to it as an historical event. Jude is the best definition for what a fallen angel is in a book just before a long one that references them many times. Clay is referencing mankind and 10 toes are the 10 men that are given kingdoms on the same day the Beast starts his 42 montACh reign. Da:2:40-45: And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise. And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay. And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken. And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay. And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure. 2/3 of the Gentiles alive on the day the 7th trump sounds will die in the few hours that follow the resurrection of the two witnesses. What is mentioned had to happen in a period of 1260 days that starts when the 5th trump sounds and end on the day the 7th trump sounds. In the verse below the whole world surrenders to the Beast at the start of his 42 month rule. Jerusalem only comes under his control for the 4 days the witnesses are dead. The latter time below is 3 1/2 years before and Jerusalem is exempt. Da:8:23-25: And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up. And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people. And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand. All of that has to have a reference in Da:11 and be within the 1260 days that is what 42 months equals. The 5th trump sounding is woe one and 5 months later the 2nd woe begins and 1/3 of all people on the planet Da:11-2-4: And now will I shew thee the truth. Behold, there shall stand up yet three kings in Persia; and the fourth shall be far richer than they all: and by his strength through his riches he shall stir up all against the realm of Grecia. nd a mighty king shall stand up, that shall rule with great dominion, and do according to his will. And when he shall stand up, his kingdom shall be broken, and shall be divided toward the four winds of heaven; and not to his posterity, nor according to his dominion which he ruled: for his kingdom shall be plucked up, even for others beside those. The last verse from Da:11 is referencing the day the 7th trumps sounds and the 7 vials are followed by the book of life verses from Re:10. Satan and the harlot is the king with the daughter. The two witnesses are the people that know God and can do exploits and a few other thing have been meshed but not all of it. Revelations has several chapters that would help filling in the current blanks. The image from Re:13 is the false throne and it is the abomination standing where it should not be. M't:24:15: When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Da:11:31: And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate. 2Th:2:3: Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 2Th:2:4: Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. Re:18:8: Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.

People go to sleep when they die, the breath of life never sleeps: Ge:2:7: And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Ec:3:20: All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again. Ec:12:7: Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. Ec:9:10: Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest. 1Th:4:14: For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

And you have to understand, this is an Orthodox Rabbi critiquing Christianity USING Rabbinic Judaism and its interpretation as a metric. Because the NT is based on the Tanach. If the NT was not attached to Tanach, if Tanach wasn't "canon" in the Christian tradition, then this wouldn't matter. But once Tanach was accepted as canon, it became dependent upon it. So that is what Rabbi does. But Rabbi is also Orthodox. Which means he simply can not critique Judaism with the same standard of objectivity he can critique Christianity. So what he's saying about Christianity in comparison to Tanach, is generally spot on. he's a master of the text and the Rabbinic interpretation, the literalist interpretation so to speak. But objectively critiquing Judaism and Torah and Tanach, he simply can not do. Cognitive dissonance theory. It effects ALL orthodox, regardless of religion, the same. Really it effects all literalists the same. Anyone who believes that any text is divinely authored, will HAVE to use cognitive dissonance to protect those beliefs at some point or another. Because in reality no text is perfect, infallible, or timeless. So in order to believe that a particular text IS infallible and perfect, one must subconsciously ignore certain contradictions and hypocrisies. And in most cases, it is subconscious. It's not something they do intentionally. The Sadducees, and MOST Jews prior to say the 3rd century, before the Greeks arrived, did not really believe in resurrection, or any of those supernatural things. As I would say 70% of Jews today believe.... or don't believe as it were. And the Sadducees didn't use oral torah, meaning mishna, talmud and later Rabbinic writings, which obviously did not exist in written form at that time, and were really only created later. And no resurrection is not in Torah. But Rabbinic Judaism interprets some of the more vague and cryptic elements in order to justify that belief. These ideas don't really even show up in Tanach until around Daniel. And with Daniel, the older texts are reinterpreted. Which is why Tanach doesn't spend a lot of time on this topic. Because in the 3rd century BCE, these were relatively new ideas to Judaism, brought by the Greeks. And the Rabbinic tradition, influenced from the Essenes and Pharisees, who in turn were influenced by the Greeks and Persians. Rabbinic Judaism is a very specific branch and tradition of Judaism. There were other texts that have informed Rabbinic Judaism ALMOST as much as elements of Tanach, like Book of Jubilees, Enoch. And the early Rabbinical writings, Mishna and Talmud, use a lot of these other sources for say inspiration and influence. There are over 8 different ideas about what happens after death in Talmud I believe. So Rabbinic tradition is basically, the opinion of any Rabbi who mattered. It is all OPINION. The Sadducees didn't even believe in a conscious afterlife. We don't see ANY reward or retribution after death until the book of Daniel. As these concepts, hypothetically, arrived in Judea with either the Persians or Greeks. And there are a lot of archaeological and historical reasons to think that also which I won't get into. But most scholars today believe Daniel wasn't even written until the 2nd century BCE. After Alexander arrived. Which is where the story that Alexander was handed Daniel comes from. Theoretically. I mean, we are fairly certain that Daniel was a late production. But we can't know absolutely. All evidence points in that direction. So really, this entire idea of afterlife only shows up around late persian-early Hellenistic and kind of takes off from there. This is when we see Pharisees and Sadducees split off, and groups like Essenes come up. The Sadducees beliefs actually overlap MORE with most modern Jews than do Pharisaic views. As only 10% of modern Jews are Orthodox, and maybe another 20% "Conservative". Meaning about 70% who are either Reform, Humanist, Reconstruction, secular theist or secular atheist, do not adhere to the Rabbinic tradition or the 13 principles of Rambam. And they don't generally believe in things like resurrection, a conscious afterlife, magic and supernatural things, reward and retribution after death.... Sadducees were also legal Torah authoritarians though, so modern Jews are not like them in that sense. And modern Jews mostly all at least refer to Oral torah and don't deny it like Sadducees did. Except for the Karaits who pretty much inherited the Sadducee philosophy. All modern Judaism is influenced by the Rabbinic tradition, but not all Judaism adheres to the Rabbinic beliefs. Judaism is what Jews do and believe. Jew, from the Latin Iudaeus, from the Hebrew Yehudim, meaning the people of the Kingdom of Judah, not the tribe or the very diverse faith practices of the Kingdom. And they were diverse. Rabbinic Judaism, one could argue, actually takes more in tradition from the Essenes than the Pharisees. All though Orthodox would contest this likely. But objectively, I would say its true. So all of these groups had very different ideas about the things that most of us would suggest are impossible to know. Things like what is our soul, is death the end, is there an afterlife, how are we connected to the eternal one....... you know, all the things that man's religions and texts claim to know, but which are in reality, impossible to know. Which is basically what Humansit Judaism is, and Reform to an extent. The understanding that this is the mythology of our ancestors. How they understood God, the universe and humanity, and our traditions. Reform overlaps a bit more with Rabbinical tradition than Humanist. But either way. So what I am saying I guess is that all these ideas about the after life and soul, developed within Rabbinic Judaism specifically. And in large part in contrast to Christianity. As Christianity and Rabbinic Judaism developed alongside one another, in conversation with each other and often in contrast to one another. So Rabbinic Judaism in many ways is influenced by European, North African and Arab concepts all the same as Christianity and Islamic concepts are influenced by the Jewish. Breath/life and soul are the same in Rabbinic thinking. As far as I know. Or part of the same process. The soul IS life, it is what animates. And the breath is God inserting the soul into the clay, the physical. That's how I would say Rabbinic Judaism understands it. Remember, every Rabbi, every person, has an opinion. And that's all things like Mishna, Talmud, Zohar, or Tenak Talk are, the specific interpretation and opinion of the speaker /writer. Not to say there aren't universal things in Torah and Tanach, universal realizations, insights. Like you cant get something from nothing so "God", or eternity, must exist. One of the great insights of the text. But the fine details ,the history, the legal code.... I mean... these are everchanging. Oral Torah HAD to arise because living a life based solely on Tanach without expansive interpretation would be almost impossible. Check out Humanist Judaism channels, IISHJvid and Societyforhj, and then a few other channels on YT dealing with scholarly biblical and textual analysis/archaeology, Mythvision, Gnostic Informant, Digital Hammurabi, Dr. KippDavis. And remember, you don't have to call yourself an atheist if you don't believe in the text. Some of us KNOW that the text was written by men. But that doesn't negate God. God is eternity. Tanach keenly deduced that the creator of the universe, some eternity, some entity that was always and will be always MUST exist for everything else to exist. In essense this is God. And this is the only thing we can deduce about God. The rest are our ancestors best efforts. And they made some amazing realizations. But the texts are still from the minds of men. But GOD, not any specific god, just THE only one, must exist for anything else to exist. Doesn't mean he talks to us, doesn't mean we have a soul. But some entity must be infinite, eternal, and the source of all other things. That much we can deduce. Logically. The rest is myth. IMO. And probably the opinion of MOST modern Jews. At least those who aren't atheist. But many say my position IS atheist because im not talking about a personified deity. But no, I would say GOD of Judaism is in essence, just, the infinite and eternal thing. And we just gave it form, using words.... or creation. We gave form to that entity like it gave form to us....according to the book at least.

@@cynthiajones4803 And that opening of Genesis is brilliant too. What are words? The book says words are creation. And "God" spoke words that separated the firmaments and light from dark etc... And that we in his creation.... have the power of creation, the word. And this is how a huge book of words opens basically. Coincidence? Maybe. Or the author is trying to tell us something about all the WORDS that come after. Without words what is our reality? We build our reality with words. Constructs. A tree exists in real life, physically. When we name it, tree, we give it identity set apart from everything else. So an identity is not just what something is, but also what something is not. And we couldn't know what is without what it isn't. But this is naming something that exists with or without us. This is "Gods creation". But what of religion, government, cars, artificial intelligence, ideology, science...... these are constructs made real, created by man. Literature included. We make these things real, and we do this using words. And then a lot of hard work of course. Thus, God names "light" and it becomes separated from "dark". He names land and it becomes separate from sea. And we name "God" and we set that thing apart from all else. This is what the name YhVH represents, the was, is and will be. And the taboo against saying it in whole has to do with Rabbinical belief in word magic. As in if you say it, you step out of yourself, and disconnect from god. You are now viewing eternity from a "distance" so to speak. And thus you have no choice but to realize your insignificance. And this can be very dangerous for the psyche, or the Rabbis would say, the spirit. It can lead to nihilism, giving up on life, depression, these kind of things. Which is why they say it is taboo to say. To even think about to some extent. At least until you are of certain age and certain level of learning so you are "ready" to jump into the abyss so to speak. Anyway. Words define things and it defines their opposite. Dark is not light. Sea is not land. And this is how we create our world. We do. Like we create the reality in the text. What is a government? Its an idea right? It's an idea that was brought into reality using 2 things, our ability to think abstractly and our ability to use words. We think it, then we describe it, and it becomes "real". Sometimes that means the physical process too. Like an architect would think of a building, draw the blueprint, and then it would need to be built, thus becoming real. Religion for instance, what is it? Well, it is this specific belief system made reality. Whether the elements are real in the sense of physical reality or not, they are real in the minds of those who believe in it. As real as say, a government. What is government without respect for its authority? Is it the constitution? The elected officials? The government buildings and workers? Is it the people? The flag? Well, its all these things, its a construct that became real because we thought it, said it and made it. Just like God made the universe in the text. I would suggest this is allegorical of course. That the author here is leaving us a key. That this is a work of man that we make real. That we gave form to God by naming him, and in Judaism there are so many names, including a 42 letter name in kabbalah. These are all the things, these names are all the things , Jews think "God" is. "God" is a construct. And it can mean many things. But what Judaism really means using the term "God", is yes, all the ridiculous things in Torah and Tanach of course, but also the creator of the universe, the origin, the source of existence. This is monotheism in essence. But this is the ONLY necessary element of monotheism right? This is all one needs to "believe" to be a monotheist. And I would go as far as to say not just believe ,but "know" through this deduction that it must exist because things exist. But it doesn't have to speak to us, we dont need a soul, or all the rest. Those are things we create, and bring into reality. We have that power of the creator of the universe. I would suggest, read the Torah now, with that in mind. When I realized this, it completely changed my interpretation. It also is when I realized, around my bar mitzvah, that literalist interpretation has had its day. And those who worship text, are practicing an antiquated belief. Text isn't "God", only the creator of the universe is God. Text is a nice guide. The wisdom of our ancestors. Just as much a part of God as all other things. Meaning, nothing can be more significant than the source of that thing. And that includes any text man thinks up.
