Did you agree with the controversial decision at the end or do you feel like the Wallabies were hard done by?
Either way, it was a cracking game to watch!

He thought the clock was off... If you look at the clock, there are only 35 seconds from the moment the penalty was called to when Foley was going to kick (Penalty was at 78.25 and Foley is kicking at 79.02 - +30 seconds is actually something you see in every bloody game, even more tbh). The problem is that the ref paused the clock after the penalty and was apparently telling Foley to hurry up and kick.... but still, I think that the ref exaggerated here. Obviously as an Australian I was gutted too but I think the boys played great last night

...I doubt we'll see consistency with the ruling and as a Kiwi I am dead against this particulat referee decision, even though techinically it is probably correct. If this was an example being made it's very poor timing and in my view not in the spirit of the game. Aussie were robbed.

If Swain's actions had been punished as they obviously should, then the Wallabies wouldn't have been in a competitive position at the end of the game. Seems everyone is ignoring that fact, but they got to keep a player who'd engaged in an absolutely disgusting act of foul play and that placed them in a position that was unfair to the All Blacks. Plus he missed a clear forward pass and awarded a try for it, so the Wallabies got unfair advantages way more than any benefit to NZ.

Well, that's curious, isn't it? When Aus was down 13 men with plenty of time to go the ref only told Foley to hurry up instead of penalising him. @@uberboiz Not really. The fact he told Foley to hurry up previously is exactly that. A warning. They do it again, it gets punished. Same thing with consistent penalties. Frankly, I have had a gutsful of the continual time-wasting that goes on in the modern game - its an 80 minute game in which we only see about 30 minutes of actual ball-in-play. - Forwards having a committee meeting 15m away from the line-out and then ambling up to it - Players throwing or kicking the ball away or refusing to give the ball up at a penalty or free kick against them - Players throwing the ball away when forced into touch - Players taking an age to kick the ball into touch. Call me an old fart if you like, but in my day, we had our committee meeting *as we walked briskly to the line-out* . Of course, there is also the forever blight on the game that it takes an age to put down a bloody scrum. Again in my playing days, it was less than 15 seconds from the referee's whistle to the front rows coming together, another 1-2 seconds and the scrum-half had the ball in, and a few seconds later he had it back in play - referee's whistle to ball out in 20 seconds. Rule 20.5 explains why the Wallabies weren’t robbed, just let down by Foley….so frustrating. But hats off to the ref for the big call, as a fan I want more refs to police time wasting in all matches.

Comment from a WB fan .....There were 2 WB decisions even more crazy than Raynal’s imo. a) The decision to give Foley the line kick job during any game - For 4 years WB fan watched with growing dismay as we watched Foley stuff up line kicks with short inacurrate popguns that often failed to go out, or gained minimal metres. Cheika eventually replaced him with Hodge. But appears Rennie didn’t watch those 4 WB years closely. WBs had much better kickers on the feild last night in White, Kellaway, Ikitau, even Koroibete. b) Foley found a new way to stuff it up last night - he just didn’t kick at all. If WBs were stupid enough to give the line kicking job to Foley again we should keep our handkerchiefs close for either laughing, or crying. So after 80 mins of watching Foley execute poor line, and open feild, kicks he gave WB fans reason to cry………again

@@peterhughes8699 As a WB fan, I agree with you... Foley went away in a state of humiliation 3 year ago but last night he kicked well to the goal and passed the ball very well. Noah Lolesio is a not a play maker JOC... well where the hell is JOC? So I think Foley did not do so bad last night tbh. The last penalty in my opinion was a bit harsh but not necessarily wrong. If you look at the clock there are only 35 seconds of game time from the penalty to time he kicks the ball (78.25 to 79.02) and you see that everyday in rugby

Lets be honest, even if the decision was right or wrong, it happened. The real question should be why there's so much inconsistency between all the referees, it borders on absolute blatant idiocy and other times can be seen as an honest mistake. But then we have the TMO's, who should certainly be able to overturn a bad decision, go back to the mark and try it again. The fans are not happy, the referees don't get sanctioned, the players get blamed/hated/ridiculed but the referees just keep on making the same mistakes over and over. No consequences to even speak of. When Rassie called out the BS (or didn't) he was castrated, fined and banned from even being a waterboy. Not fair in my view and if it continues on this trajectory I don't want to be part of it anymore. I love this game, but I refuse to ruin my weekends by screaming at the referees anymore.
