Another unboxing video, this time a rather nice Zeiss Werra1 zone focussing 35 mm camera...

I was willing you to turn that shutter cocking/film advance ring 😄. You should do more videos like this where you try to figure out how to operate quirky cameras for the first time.

I had one a few years ago. They perform well and the quirky film advance is unique.

Hi Ian, it confused me how to advance the film and cock the shutter, will have to put some film through it and see what the lens is like, trust your well....

I have a green edition of this crazy camera, it's not very ergonomically made, especially when you put a lens shade on the lens, adjusting the focus is a nightmare, but the photos it produces are beautiful 😊

Hi, the green version looks amazing, will give it a go with some film, the quirky advance system is quite unique....

@@thephotographersbag Yes, a very interesting film winding system and the lens is very high quality, you will be satisfied with the results. I noticed that the red color is very pronounced in the photos taken by Werra, I don't know if it's because of the lens or because of the film. Basically this is a very interesting camera with a very good lens 🙂

It appears roughly comparable to the Zeiss Ikon Contina. I wonder which came first?

Hi, the Contina was launched in 1953 by the West Germany based Zeiss, the Werra was launched by the East Germany based Zeiss Jena, in 1954, so very close to each other, well spotted....
