I think you'll find the world a brighter, fuller, more pleasant place. I recommend Montgomery's collaborations with Monk and Jimmy Smith.

This is great - Wes stretching out here and taking his time. Just wish there was a video of this concert as well. Johnny Griffin is great on sax. 1965 was a good year for Wes and we are fortunate that there are a wealth of live videos from his European tour during that year.

Obviously Yes ! Compared to Wes M., Jimi H. never got further than exploring the scene. Mr. Montgomery was an accomplished composer, interpreter & improvisor on guitar, who could play every ballad or blues in his particularly own style. Never heard Jimi play any uptempo tunes.
