Sometimes we need a vacation too! Which might seem crazy to think when you live and travel on a sailboat fulltime, but in all honesty it is really nice to take some time off the boat and enjoy the luxuries on land.
After saying good-bye to friends and last guests for a while, we have been invited to stay in Cabo by some KZfaq fans and let's just say we love our viewers and have a really fantastic week with them!
Thanks for following the adventures of WE!

Warren buddy, you sooooo need a breaker in that battery line to the generator before the boat goes up in smoke. Who designed that system? Wow.

This may be your best video ever!!! Well, we are in it so it has to be! ;) Kidding, we are so grateful that you guys took us up on the offer and we enjoyed our time with you both. It just goes to show that you have to take chances to find new places and new friends. We look forward to many years of friendship and lots more fun! Chuck and Marni

Hello Guys, I just saw what happen to the generator. Your very lucky. Now you MUST PUT A FUSE BETWEEN THE POSITIVE POST AND THE CABLE. This will protect the your cable and the battery so there's no chance of a fire. Watch Jeff on Pacific Yacht Systems.

.... Yikes ... that rubbed wire sorta makes one want to take the whole thing out and look at it from all sides, .. Yikes ... sure glad you found it before catastrophe .... reorganizing means reclaiming valuable space ... never been to Cabo, just heard great things about, want to check it out one day .. that beachfront is absolutely magnificent .... when running on high output, regen times are required even if only 10 min, 30 is better, everyone has their best duration for max effect .... the crash after too much sugar is always brutal .. wish I realized the evils of sugar, fructose, and carbs (sugar in disguise) 20 years before my doc told me 3 years ago that I was full blown diabetic ..... awesome video, thx for the share Warren & Erica .. as always .. never stop dreaming, just dream bigger .. have fun be safe, save our oceans ....

That happened to me in a car on the way home from the car lot and it blew the battery up or actually blew the top off but it all started with the cable rubbing on the bottom/side of the steel plate. It was powerful enough to dent the hood and of course it scared the crap out of me because it sounded like a shotgun! I can’t imagine being on the water!

Outstanding. Come on Warren do something 🤗. What a minute, you did trouble shoot, diagnose, and fixed a potential very serious electrical system weakness. GREAT JOB MAN 👍🇺🇸😎🍻 cheers... and take a nap.

Hiya, Yet another great video, thank you. As an ex-spark may I recommend you get a 'Bridge Megga', at least that is what we call them here in England. It is a resistance tester that rather than using 1.5v to 9v depending on battery size produces 110/220v and is calibrated to mega ohms. So rather than where you were sparking and yes indeed, risking an explosion, it sends a high voltage but no current to check insulation resistance. Well done finding that copper crow's nest. When you put the spiral wrap on you should have put it where it went to our right under components rather than in free air. Also get ratchet crimpers, one for red, blue and yellow crimps, and one for the much larger cable you used. Their cost is offset against a well-made connection with the correct pressure used. I was taught in training that a well-made crimp was in effect welded together, they become one piece of metal. Please keep making such wonderful films of you sleeping while Erica works. Fair winds and a following sea, Steve...

If that wiring was done at the factory wow. They should be made to recall or send out a tech to fix the problem. That could have so easily burnt. Nice bit of investigative problem solving. I would not have stopped with that though. I would have checked the full harness. If they did that what did they do with the rest of it ? KOHLER you need to kick somebody's ASS in your assembly factory.

Nah you are not overdramatizing that at all, I saw you pull that cable out at my eyes went wide. That was a horrible fire hazard.

Warren, you can put out a lighted match in diesel fuel without fire or explosion. In order to cause a fire with diesel you need to heat it up significantly. You won't reach that temperature on your boat unless the diesel comes in contact with an existing fire nearby and it will not be an explosion. The smoke you saw while looking for the cause was probably wire insulation cooking or some fuel or oil coating the frayed wire. That's why one should never operate a boat with gasoline. That is a bomb! Keep working at it and one day you will know enough about that new boat that when something goes bad/wrong you can contain your worries because you know how to diagnose and fix it. Best regards, Sailing Jamie
