The most tragic character maybe outside Howard from Better Call Saul. Both grew so much and died because of their refusal to adhere to moral perversion.

Best character in the entire buffyverse, probably in television history, and the actor got zero credit for it! He is not even in promotional material for the show.

I completely agree. He's my favorite character. In anything. Period. The writing for him was phenomenal, but it wouldn't have been possible without Alexis Denisof being able to play so well into silly, tragic, cold, heartfelt, badass, whatever.
