My daughter went to Wesleyan College. She had small classes, attentive and interested teachers, and kind administrators. I cannot say enough good things about this school. When I dropped my 18-year-old off for her first year, I felt like I was leaving her in a school that should not exist, a school in some fairy tale, that really cares about its students. Each incoming student had a faculty member to help her choose her first semester classes. I went to a large University, The University of Virginia, and we were sent an upper-class student to talk to us about choosing classes, in groups in the dorm. If a group got an uninterested student volunteer, they were out of luck! My daughter reported many instances of teachers helping her. Once she called home to tell us she was in the dormitory's basement, and someone had run through the dorms telling all the girls to go to the basement since a tornado had been spotted. (They didn't do that at the University of Virginia!) My daughter spent four happy and productive years at Wesleyan, and I am thrilled that she went there. (The first women's college in the world. How cool is that?!)

Fantastic "teaching" school. Faculty do good, research, but teaching (discussion-based, seminar-style) is first. Also, lots of international students--nice blend of foreign and domestic. Beautiful campus too. A school that needs to be on more prospective students' radar.
