Roatán is an island about 65 kilometers off the northern coast of Honduras. It is located between the islands of Útila and Guanaja.
The largest of the three islands, Roatan is 77 kilometers long and 8 kilometers at its widest point. Roatán is characterized by its mountainous backbone, composed of hilltops that run west-to-east across the entire island. Home to 2 separate cruise ship ports, Roatan is a tourism hot spot. Many travelers take advantage of the breath-taking coral reef, easily accessible from the beautiful white-sand beaches.
