That argument falls apart when you look at all the dogshit teams in “real conferences” who don’t even make it into the tournament. Examples: Northwestern (Big 10), DePaul (Big East), Georgia (SEC), Oregon State (PAC-12), Kansas State (Big 12) But Gonzaga is supposedly a “fraud” for losing in the natty 🙄 🤦‍♂️

It's weird to me how people hate Gonzaga because they haven't won a championship. Idk why else they're hated. It's not because they "don't play anyone"...because they play and beat major conferences teams in non conference and it's not because "their conference is the worst"...because there's about 25 conferences worse than their's. Only the major conferences are better. Loyola Chicago and Murray State have been good for years now...if they remain this good for another 10 years will people all of sudden go from liking them to hating them too? To Gonzaga's credit, these two certainly don't play the same competition the Zags do.

Honestly, I think it comes from jealousy. The Zags are almost always on the top for AP rankings and seeding. And quite frankly, having a family of Gonzaga alumni’s, the Zags used to be a Cinderella team. They would never make the top 25. Now people hate on them because their teams are never as credited at the Zags are.

I don't get how people don't love the Cinderella story that Gonzaga is: A tiny little Jesuit college in a dying mining city in a remote corner of the country that was ready to shut its doors before the 1998 run to the Elite 8. The school was seriously about to withdraw from D-1 sports and attendance was so low, they were about to go bankrupt. Over the course of a decade, with little money and no top-talent recruiting, an unheralded coach turns the program from a school most tournament announcers couldn't pronounce into a household name and perennial national title contender. It's an underdog story for the ages.

The Bulldogs stepped up when they needed to step up, they will never be National Champions until they are comfortable with how they already approach each game, especially in March Madness. Go Bulldogs! The one, two, and three need to step up when the Power Forward and Center gets stumped.

@Treel I believe your right, be that as it may, then it falls to the coaching preparation and players off the bench to rise up and nip this problem in the bud. These players are studying at a prestigious institution, where the academics are no joke...why should college basketball be any different? They aren't playing against 5th,6th, and seven year seniors, not yeaht any way. Against Baylor it was lack of weight room muscle, they couldn't put manuver the muscley blocks and defensive pushes and block outs. It reminded me of Junior High School Football. I was huge in 6th grade, I was on a poor boy decline to a taller slim husky 6 foot 7th grader. I got pushed around by all the kids who I played in Flag Football, they lifted weights in 5th & 6th grade. I was years behind, when it should of been months. Preparation with coaching and player coaching. Players who've stayed behind to contribute. What Gonzaga needs is Turah or Morrison or other Gonzaga Alumni to mentor these Collegiate Superstars into Collegiate Champions. I think this experience fact and weight room muscle are key ingredients along with more coaches preparation. Oh if I were King for just one day!

@@joeboo8626 That's not important this time. The field is wide open- there's not a clear cut favorite or anyone close to being as good as Baylor was last year. It's not what you have, it's what everyone else has. There's probably 8-10 legitimate teams this year that can win it, and Gonzaga is certainly one of them. I think they have a better shot this year.

@Treel Gonzaga is 20-6 in the tourney since 2015. They’ve made 6 straight Sweet 16s (most in CBB). 4/6 Elite 8s (most). 2/4 NC games (tied for most). They have the 2nd highest winning % in the tournament over that time span (Nova is 1st). How exactly do they just fail every year again?

Yes, they haven't won the natty (although they've made two) but they've won more tourney games in the last decade than ANY OTHER TEAM. Where are you getting your perspective from? It's not rooted in reality. Sometimes it does you good to just enjoy good things (like great basketball) without trying to poke holes in it.

@Treel the committee could be called biased for any blue blood then. They earn their seeds. Contrary to your wrong opinion, gonzaga has gone into the tourney ranked top 5 in KenPom for 5 of the last 10 years and in the top 10 for 9 of the last 10. So your idea that the committee is biased is also not based in reality. Of course, that is unless you think kenpom, coaches polls, or any of the analytics are wrong and you're right. They're good. Sucks that it puts your panties in a bunch. I can't imagine putting so much effort into blindly disliking a team that has nothing to do with you. Peace.

@@kelvinconner7878 Jesus Christ how old is this nonsense. Gonzaga has the most tournament wins since 2015. 20 wins (Nova is 2nd with 17). Gonzaga has made 6 straight Sweet 16s (next closest is 4 in that time frame). They’ve made more Elite 8s than anyone in that time frame. They’ve made 2 of the last 4 National Championship games (would’ve been a 1 seed in ‘20 but no tourney). They’ve been the winningest team in the NCAA tournament over the last 6-7 years when the program really took the next step into elite tier. They were tied in the last minute of one NC game in ‘17 and then played their worst game of the season against an incredible Baylor team last year. I mean every team except one “gets beaten in the tournament every year,” so I’m not sure what that really even means. It’s just ignorant nonsense. GU has no football team. They are a small Catholic school. If it was physically possible to join the Big East, they would have. The WCC is the best conference in the country this year outside the Power 5/BE. It’s right even with the American and MWC. So… what would you have them do? It obviously hasn’t hurt them in the tournament considering they’ve won more tournament games than anyone since ‘15. They’ve had just as good of a record in the NonCon against those so called “power 5” teams as they have had against the WCC. Stop with the ignorance.

If Chet can break out of his recent shooting slump and got hot again from three and if Strawther and Timme are successful as go to guys late in games than I love this team’s chances.
