Although it was eliminated in the second round groups in the 1978 world cup, West Germany marked the 70s by winning the 1972 European Championship and the 1974 World Cup. Euro lost to Czechoslovakia in the final in 1976. Now, they have Euro 1980 in front of them! Will West Germany be able to show the performance of the 70s as a brand new decade begins?

Thanks again for putting these rare pieces of footage together. Painstaking work it must have been but the results are outstanding! Loving the totally-forgotten 0-0 draw with Malta which has the atmosphere of a Martian surface!

Me gustaría ver a algunas figuritas de hoy día jugar en algunos de esos terrenos de juego 😂 Y con la " leña " que entonces se daban y lo peor es que se permitía a veces el juego incluso violento . Éstos alemanes siempre fueron unos cracks y lo seguirán siendo 💪⚽⭐

It was our one of the best Turkish teams since 50's when we qualified the World Cup, but not enough to beat strong German team, they would win Euro 80.
