Arsenal lose to West Ham 2-1. West Ham’s first home win in 12 games. They haven’t been the gunners for time. It seems like Arsenal’s chances of winning the title now, are over

I need to say this. As a fan-outsider, recently new to the WSL, there is something glaringly obvious and ominous about this team. You truly have THE best roster in the league (yes, even better than Chelsea who I also follow). I don't know what happens in training, but to an outsider, it feels like starters are chosen based on legacy, and where you HOPE the team could be with your 'stars'. Are you truly picking the best players in shape right now? Why recruit Cooney Cross? Why leave Stina on the bench? Why the hell acquire the Player of the Portuguese League, one of the top UWCL scores, and bring her in 5 miniutes from the whistle, and today, only when you are desperate for quality. Lacasse is being wasted on this team, the way she is being utilized. Yes, exciting for Leah to be back, and Viv, and Russo to have dumped Man U, but you are wasting your resources because of your arrogance. Oy.

Totally agree you can really see your point when Miedema came back and don’t get me wrong she’s an amazing player. But bringing her back so early just cause of her legacy and them knowing the excitement/maybe motivation it would bring was a mistake. You could see clearly she wasn’t completely comfortable yet and felt the pressure to perform so why not wait a few weeks for her to feel back to herself? No, they instead brought her back earlier because of how she's performed in the past (her legacy) when really they could have just played a healthier/better player at the time. Which also let's be honest they are not at all short of I mean have you seen their bench on some games.

Starters imo chosen on who will throw a tantrum in a lot of cases I can think of 5 players he starts constantly who would leave if he didn’t start them

I’d disagree about arsenal having the best squad. It’s a very unbalanced squad. Arsenal are stacked with attacking mids, wingers and forwards but are thin in defence and you can only fit so many of those attack minded players in the team at the one time. Been that way for a while.

Too early !! But this defeat was painful. Something wasn't clicking up front and made some awful mistakes.

Shebahn- your comment regarding Russo being a record transfer sounded like you were having a go at her performance! Russo is a strong workhorse who is hungry and puts the effort in every game she plays. There are other factors to Arsenal slipping in games as their football style is very insular - coney cross needs more pitch time! Jonas made the substitutions as Arsenal needed an injection of energy, you are looking at the Arsenal players as individuals and not a team which Jonas is trying to build. Be patient and learn to understand the game, Arsenal will come good ! 👍

I've said it before and say again and again Jonas simply isnt a good enough manager, hes mediocre, its the squad that's got them where they are, imagine where theyd be if they had a top quality manager. He doesn't know his best team . Why they gave him a new longterm contract next year, I'll never no. Get him out!

This has been a problem for Arsenal this season. They don't know how to break teams down patiently. No one in that team takes risks to try and beat a defender and I think West Ham just showed everyone how to beat Arsenal. Eidevall's stubborn team selection hasn't helped and Lacasse needs to be given a start on the left. I predicted Arsenal to be the first team to drop out of the title race (City and Chelsea left) and I think this game might have just done it for them.

Having watched the WSL for about 5 years now, it seems that consistently Arsenal just falls a little short each season b/c they beat themselves. They consistently have the across the board talent, really, esp this year, I feel they kind of truly are the best team more or less every year in the league just based on that, even with the different alterations throughout the years, but Chelsea & Emma Hayes just get it done every season because of just superior management & knowing its a slow & steady & long race. Arsenal should be champs and yet, and yet, they never quite are. They rise to the occasion against the top 4 teams, but teams that aren't even close to them in talent, they sometimes struggle against. Something is amiss (Manu is a clear liability tho).

Not a fan of either team but West Ham beating the arse..nal was glorious 😝. Subs, zinsbergers questionable goal clearance, maybe some dodgy ref decisions. But it’s no excuse for arsenals poor performance.

We missed mccabe today definitely her type of game also I understand leah came off at half time due to just coming back but just shows she's a rock in defense and the subs were questionable so was the ref arsenal should have had a pen due to west ham playing tennis with their hands but no excuse the goal keeper needs to go.

the most frustrating thing is that I’d bet anything they’ll knock city out of the fa cup next weekend or if they don’t they’ll put up a performance worthy of it. It’s like they think teams outside the top four are going to be a walk in the park and then they give up when it doesn’t go their way

The story of our season chances not taken. 3 good ones for Russo 2 for viv. And conceding weak goals. They will put the usual positive spin on the game. We win as a team we lose as a team we will learn from this game. But they just don’t seem to be addressing it. If Chelsea win today that’s the league done.

The Arsenal ladies are simply less lethal with Russo instead of Blackestenius. Russo just does not score enough, she has not lived up to the player from the 2022 Euros. She runs around aimlessly. Blackestenius runs in behind and stretches the defence. Kim Little is a big miss. I don't know why Leah Williamson started today either. Its over, they are not winning the league.

Zinsberger coming out of the goal always ends in disaster. Meanwhile Mackenzie Arnold is always amazing. I’m an Arsenal fan and was following west ham only for Lisa Evans.(now gone). Now is not the time to force feed the team Viv I’m sorry to say. Stina, Russo, mead, maanum had a pretty good thing going. Stina was just peaking and showing confidence and you bench her for 80 minutes. 🤦🏻‍♂

Arsenal were at six’s and sevens’ in the 2nd half… not seen them this disconnected before!!!…Edeval, thinks HE is invincible…in all his decisions…and Arsenal will ‘Just Win’ whatever !!! ….Obviously NOT 🤬!….Correct ..missing Katie McCabe….and Leah only on for Ist half( though suppose that had to be for Leah’s recovery inclusion)…Superb tactics from Leanne Skinner and her team … and new signings….as you said..’ master class from them 👏👏…This was a really pivotal game.. Jonas totally wrong with. ALL decisions…players were shell shocked ?!!…So much talent was squandered….Well done West Ham though… Have to say that..to be fair…..Enjoy your content and opinions..So now subscribed 👍👍

West Ham played a blinder, cant take that away from them, they played a brilliant game. As a lifelong Gooner, I have to say that lately I am finding the Managerial decisions to be pretty questionable, although the reffing didn't help today. But one thing is for sure, we need a quality keeper. What Manu was doing punching that when it was an easy catch is beyond me. Basic Keeping 101 is catch the damn ball. As a former Keeper myself it has me screaming at the TV. Fox is a great signing, she has made a huge impact already and its great to have Williamson back in the starting 11, but the rest of the squad really need to step up. Viv looks to have lost her edge, which after an ACL is understandable that you would be a bit tentative, but when you are in the race for the title, you gotta go bold or you are going home empty handed. Russo as always put in a shift.

Nice one Shebahn! Westham fought hard the entire game and were clearly hungry for the win. Unfortunately Russo missed a perfect opportunity and in the same breath scored and played well as always covering a lot of ground throughout the game. I disagree with mead being substituted. Not sure why he left foord and subbed mead also Wally wasn’t having a good game. Manu had poor keeping again. Should have been a draw if nothing. They just are wasteful in goal and they are lost with the low block teams. They had no box presence and that’s been consistent all season. They aren’t showing up for the lower teams. They were robbed of a penalty but that shouldn’t have made or broken the game. How many crosses did they have. Couldn’t get it in when the net was empty. Poor managerial decisions. Thought fox did well and Lacasse and Cooney-cross were lively when they came in. Love your content. Sad for my Gooners.

The trouble with Arsenal is the build up is far too slow it allows the opposition to pack there defence and when our forwards get near their penalty box they try and pass through a sea of legs instead of shooting on sight they would rather pass the ball.

Hello Shebahn. I commented several times recently on different channels that Paris FC had shown the way and that young players would more and more give the established "stars" a game. West Ham have brought in some good players too. Tottenham showed how to play with resolve against Arsenal already. I imagine there will be questions again at Arsenal about the side finishing top 3 and getting into qualifying for Champions League qualifying? Manchester City seem determined and United like a wounded animal striking back. Chelsea are just themselves.

The ref was so inconsistent. Didn’t give a penalty for the handball in the WestHam box, yet gave that penalty against Steph that wasn’t even a penalty. Absolutely Fuming, don’t understand why Beth and Viv were taken off, can understand the Leah sub at half time, needing to manage her minutes but not Viv and Beth. Don’t understand how we are loosing games against lower ranked teams yet beating the likes of Man City and Chelsea.

beth played rubbish and not long back from injury that's why but everyone played rubbish, jonas was tactically poor as well...struggled with the aggressive press, and should have been playing quick 1 touch football.
