Just so ye know the little round thing on the injector pump next to the dip stick is a primer bulb. It has a little lever on the side to prime the diesel. Also, where the stop cable attaches to the injector pump is a button which give her extra diesel to aid in cold starts

Hey bud, love your channel. There is a primer on the side of the fuel pump on the injection pump. It has a small lever on the left side that will help you prime the fuel next time. Also there is a bleeder on the side of the pump.

It’s got a lift pump on the fuel pump to prime it, you can also bleed the injector lines at the top of the motor. Also make sure to check the oil in the fuel pump. Before every oil change I was always told to run a quart of transmission fluid in a full take with the diesel. It cleans the entire fuel system and injectors way better then those fuel system cleaners will.

A little disappointed a 4' snake didn't slither out of the cab while filming. Thumbs up that the shop cat has survived a week with Westen. 👍👍👍👍👍

My Father, Shirley Dale Baker, was on the Engineering test team at New Holland , Pa plant when this model came out. He has Dementia now but he told me a story about when they were testing this model one day it came loose from the chain tie downs once in the dyno room with duals on it and crawled right up the wall and just tore the shit out of the room before it was shut down. Great looking and running tractors. This would have been several years before Fiat bought That plant in PA..Thanks Jack Baker

That 401 ford engine has a bleed screw on the side of the injector pump, you crack it every time you change fuel filters, then crank the engine over and they will fire right up. Once running close it back down and good to go. I Learned it the hard way after fighting my 9700 for hours after changing the fuel filters I broke my pride and called the dealership

I didn’t know about the trans fluid in the fuel filters deal. It makes sense. I have a DEERE CT322 track loader that’s smoking since I sent it to Deere for a no start and they did a rack adjustment. I don’t know if the rack is over adjusted and it running too rich and or the injectors are dirty. But it never smoked like that before the no start problem.

I really hope you get this tractor sorted out. I am not a farmer and I dont have land, but I have always wanted a tractor since I was a kid. I'm nearly 60 nw and still havent had one. Every time I see this one in your vids, I am hoping it comes out brilliant. I know you will fix the smoking and make it look great. Looks better now it has had a wash. :). That Fuel pump has a primer pump on it , you have to pump it about 40 times after a fuel filter change 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

If u are having trouble starting it then where the throttle connects to the engine there should be a button if u put the tractor full throttle push that in and then once the tractor fires up bring the engine to an idle well that’s how our tractors in the uk

If you auctually use transmission fluid or ATF on a high pressure fuel system such as a 6.4 Powerstroke it’s most likely going to destroy your HPFP, your right about the atf being good but it’s only for like the older style mechanical injection, or common rail fuel system, found in older diesels

Be careful Weston , that tractor has dual power ( a 2 speed power shift ) and pull starting those usually doesn't end well . To use the dual power (or so called power shift ) is the foot pedal between the clutch and inner brake pedals. Just FYI , I've owned several Ford's with the dual power.

Those dislikes were from the bacteria he destroyed.

This one reminds me of that 144 hour "race" Ford did with one of their tractors just to show off the durability of them. Sure got a lot of sales. Maybe I'm old.

I have been running a quart of ATF in my vehicles for years. I put it in every third tank on my gas engines and it keeps the injectors clean and I have nearly 200k on the Tahoe.

You are right about the ATF in the fuel filters. I run that everyonce in a while in my old 7.3 IDIs. Cleans them right up and smoke goes away

Fords were and still are pretty common up here in Ontario.

thats the best thing about these old school mechanical tractors is that you can get literally everything wet and it'll still run like new. The new stuff thats got all these computers and shit would never start after you wash it like this one.

Great video What's the name of the song "It's a sign of the times" who sings it. Also to bleed the fuel system on the injection pump there is a round pump with a side lever you loosen the 2 bleed screw on the filter head and pump that lever once fuel appears tighten them up then on the injector pump there is a bleed screw on there also where the 6 injector pipes are the pump head manifold Pump the lever until fuel appears Then slacken the injector pipes at the the injector and crank over until fuel spits out tighten up then she will fire up straight away. Also if you remove the faulty injector you can swap it with another to see if the problem moves if the problems stays where it was then it's likely to be a pump issue You can also remove the injector and remove the tip and check the needle is free Keep the great videos coming
