Very often "common sense" is actually cultural norm deep down. Cultures get things badly wrong, and modern western culture is certainly no exception. Muslim/Bukhari hahiths are probably something like 98 or 99% reliable.

Hopefully, a Muslim will rely upon total trust of the Prophet (sallahu alayhi wasalaam) and almost total trust of his Companions and the Predecessors and then the 3rd gen. Taken together, the level of review and scrupulousness of this process provides a level of near unprecedented reliability compared to any other people's history and religious text. In the end, history is reliant upon trust of people who came before, their reliability, and that of the consistency of the text. I feel secure in what we know of the hadith. Interpretation within context is something else, and alhumdulillah, we have Fiqh and the different madhabs that provide a broad, merciful breadth that has worked across time and cultures.

You can’t tell the difference between laws of physics and a HISTORICAL method, btw which are still very different NOWADAYS regarding what school of thought you follow ? Ever heard of maximalists, minimalists, traditionists, skeptics… please try being humble and at least try knowing a little bit about the subject before expressing yourself. That’s embarrassing.
