Since 1954, giant iron machines have been roaring back to life each Labor Day weekend in Rollag Minnesota. The Western Minnesota Steam Thresher’s Reunion attracts thousands of visitors each year with its 210 acres of exhibits and demonstrations. Almost nothing is static, as workers have meticulously restored and revived vintage equipment. Enjoy a glimpse of the sights and sounds of Rollag.

About the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund
In 2008, Minnesota voters passed a landmark piece of legislation - the Minnesota Clean Water, Land, and Legacy Amendment - which provided funding to public television stations serving audiences in Minnesota. Its mission is to help preserve and document the treasures of culture, history, and heritage that make Minnesota special, and to increase access to the natural and cultural resources we all share.

My in-laws family was one of the original families that started all this 60 years ago. I am so in love with this place.

Otis Phelps was running one of the trains there one day, like He did when He worked for the Great Northern, when the brakes go sticky on some of them Cattle Cars, and he got a big grin on his face as he worked to sand the rails and drag that little string of Cars up the grade. I do miss hanging around with that old Dude.... He was a Great Teacher.

i love the comment at the end about "full of life". brings to mind the sense of loss over the steam portion of one of our local museums being shut down by the ministry of labour.

1992 was the year we were up there with my five children. My daughter was three months old , with the wife and with a friend and now we're heading back just my friend and myself on Saturday, 1 September 2017. It should be a doozy of a time. Home cooked meals up there Can't wait to taste it and the pies are going to be delicious.
