Why is it, to so many people, that living HEALTHY comes long down on the list of what is important? I would rather live a simple life, be healthy, and be around long enough to enjoy it. This place looks wonderful. What a grand environment to raise a family.

That is a sweet set up. Something similar in Wyoming would easily cost another 200K at least. It is exactly what I am looking for...but I couldnt make the move (right now). Best of luck/prayers for the seller. It will sell...hopefully quick enough to help them out. Thanks for sharing...lots of good ideas on layout of a homestead!

To own a few acres within other privately owned acres would be super private and cool. What a gorgeous place that was/is. A spring fed bottled water company would be sweet ! Not to mention the gardens a person could achieve wow.

Radiation is good for ya, it makes ya grow real tall and also you can grow extra limbs in case something has to be replaced. Also makes your crops grow really big.

Thanks for sharing this Scott. It shows what is possible for off-grid living. The place is quite nice, really awesome setting, all the infrastructure with buildings, pond, spring, etc. is just amazing. Too far above my budget, or I'd be on it like a duck on a June bug. It as nearly perfect as any homestead I've looked at. This would definitely be a good setup for an intentional community of self-reliant/self-sufficient folks. Especially, if they were to acquire the additional property, too. Do you know if it is being handled by the same agent?

However the entire world's resources has not effectively contained/ cleaned up one Fukashima, so the chances of enough people having the know how after shtf to try to contain and cleanup those many plants are slim to none. @Nike Flowers

In California that property would be well over 1.5 to 2 million. I am in the market and 350k would not get me anything near that. Such a beautiful property a steal at that price.

+Southeastern Ohio Homestead Looks to be about 3 acres with a 3,500 sq ft house. $190k est. Probably could cut off that corner and still have plenty of boundary around the house.

Beautiful house its such a shame the owner lost his job and has to sell it, did he not have it paid off? Sorry not trying to get into his business, oh its so beautiful, if i had the money id definitely buy that property, its been an absolute dream of mine to have that style of farmhouse and go totally off grid and be self sufficient and have a homestead plus i hear NC is gorgeous!!! Plus those birds in the background its so picturesque!!

would the previous owner want to come back to help run the place? also, how much to put solar/geothermal in with battery backup? how much to put inm the woodstove in the kitchen? how much to put a fridge in? how much to buy a few goats or a milk cow? how much for ducks or chickens? or both for eggs? what kind of fruit trees/vines/berries availabe on teh land? where is this located?

I don't know how to work a wood stove so I couldn't move in with a wood stove if I have no idea how to work a wood stove I'd be burning everything on the stove I'd rather have a gas stove but I don't have to worry about that cuz I'll never have the money to buy that place even though I'd love to have it. it's up to the Lord where he wants me to live . he knows I would like to have a places like that so if he wants to give one he will

A springbox always contains ways to remove the silt that comes from the springhead. They were also used for refrigeration so you'll see compartments. a cistern is just a storage vessel.

+engineer775 Practical Preppers This is a nice place, but doesn't western NC have nuclear power plants? I don't think it is safe to be near them on a good day much less during SHTF. Civil unrest or illness will cause people not to go to work at the plant. Would the water get contaminated if there were a problem at the plant?

+Elizabeth Pendleton The monthly electric bill would be more of a concern. Central A/C, electric heat pump, two out buildings with 100 Amp sub panels. The price is quite a value considering it is 52 acres and includes all of the out buildings.
