Being a native northern Californian with all the fires we've been through and knowing about all the fires my fellow oregonians have been through, I couldn't help but notice that the burned areas you were working in look like they could have been more properly managed. If these forests are managed like a renewable source of wood it wouldn't have come down to you guys scrambling to salvage the timber after a catastrophic wildfire. And think about the job security for current and future timberfallers!

Whenever I drop something even medium sized, as it starts to tip, I get away. I thought that maybe I was being silly. But no. If there's a safe way to run, I'm gonna go for it. I'm not gonna get a broken nose or black eye from some stick or rock.

I Believe They are chasing the Hinge Wood doing that. Hanging Out a extra minute while Tree is In transit toward Ground. Yet Not Sure. Only Guessing I Understand Not all Guys there Do that.

Here Ben I got ya. They're using Stihl 500i's. I think they're 79cc and I'm sure these are ported.

Garrett had a 661. Brennan was Using 066 and Anton and Gordy and Mike were Using 500 I saws o63 g chains I believe between 32 36 inch bars.

Everyone here is running a westcoast saw 500i. You can tell because they're all running the wcs velocity stack with no hood, Witch is only available for the 500.
