Westgate Vacation Villas may be one of the best hotels near Disney World, offering studio, one- and two-bedroom units with all the comforts of home, including a full kitchen, washer/dryer and patio/balcony. The property offers an on-site water park, tons of restaurants for every taste, mini golf, playground, arcade, softball field, basketball and tennis courts, free movie theater, bbq grills, numerous pools throughout the property and a complimentary shuttle to get you there. They also have an extensive activities schedule to keep your family busy all day long. Many activities are complimentary and some have small fees associated with them.
Size restrictions: 2 dogs per room, not to exceed 60lbs total. Each dog must be no more than 36 inches in length or height.
Breed restrictions: (not limited to) Great Dane, Sharpei, Pit Bull, Rottweiler, German Shepherd, Husky, Alaskan Malamute, Doberman Pinscher, Chow Chow and Presa Canario (other dog breeds at the discretion of Management.)

Thank you. Very nice you cared for Roxy as a human. She is super special and you are going to have great time with her in the future. It was a nice place indeed, but Roxy is more important and as a dog lover, I love you too. Give a big hug to Roxy from us in Toronto. Our Roxy passed last year. Enjoy your time!

We had a great time, even though we didn’t get to stay where we wanted. Really wish the hotels would make their decisions on a case-by-case basis, rather than banning an entire breed. It’s pretty unfair. Oh well, thanks for watching, guys:)

I’ve stayed there in 2008 but I didn’t bring my pup 🐶. My family and I really loved the place, the only thing was that the comforter wasn’t clean it was visible dirty other than that it was a beautiful place to stay.

Our granddaughter would have loved it, but she was perfectly happy in the smaller room at the smaller property. All she really needs is a pool and she loved playing with Trixie for the week:)

It is a shame they wouldn’t let us have Trixie, but we had a better time with her in the small hotel than we would have had without her in that big room:)

That place is huge. Way bigger than our house! That is a great place to spend a week long vacation, or longer. I would probably get stuck in that little shower! Excellent, thorough review - as always!

It really was a large unit. We’ve had a few like that down in FL. Now we’ll have to wait 10 years before we can stay in something like that again. Boo!

@TheMidlifeRide - So, how does that work? You have to save up points each year? I know you get so many points each year, but to get a property in a high demand area, you have to save up points?

@@FrontiersmanAdventures the 10 year reference was because that’s how long we’re likely to have Trixie. Until then, we’ll have to stay wherever will allow 70lb German Shepherds!

Guess if a person has a service dog, they better check to make sure they won’t have an issue with the resorts policy.

I would think service dogs would be exempt from these rules, but better safe than sorry. Their full policy is very restrictive but it would be difficult for them to enforce all the rules.
