Westlake MacArthur Park is located near downtown Los Angeles. This walking tour begins at 8th street & Alvarado St and finishes around Alvarado St & 6th street. Along this road are small stalls selling goods, food, cosmetics, etc. This area is infamous for obtaining shady items as well, in addition to aggressive people so walk with caution. Be cautious or your surroundings at Westlake MacArthur Park.

I lived on 7th and Westlake, 7th and Bonnie's Brae and 8th and Alvarado all through 1985-1993. If you think its bad now, back in those days the gang wars and the crack epidemic exploded tearing down communities.

There used to be a lot of drugs sold here back in 2000-2005, particularly on that corner where Langer's Deli is. I wonder if that's still the case.

hell no,nothing nice about it,this must have been taken early in da morning on a Sunday,usually dirty,nothing but homeless,hypes,meth heads.nothing but craziness.very rare to see it so nice.

I live right across the street from MacArthur park. I remember one time these drugged out people got annoyed by that Christian guy on the loudspeaker and started beating him with a bat and chased him all the way around the corner😅😂. The dude finally got the point and left. I don’t know what the hell he was doing there close to midnight lol.

I worked on 7th and Alvarado in the early 2000's and back then it looked like Guatemala or any other Country besides the U.S. I can only imagine what it's like now ! Very sketchy place. Bodies in the lake all the time drug dealing gangs. It's a shithole make no mistake.

This area looks awfully sketchy, but TBH I never felt unsafe walking down these streets. I like all the Latin American shops along the sidewalk. Gives the area a nice flair. MacArthur Park is pretty gross with all the bird poo on everything. Hopefully that park gets cleaned up as it has so much potential.
