Love this show! good job guys! If you gave the tubas Contras instead of Sousaphones and hid the woodwinds I would have thought yall were a Drum Corps 😂

Holy shit I would love to have seen this in person. This was difficult enough for our band in concert season lmao

I might be a year late to seeing this, but I have to congratulate everyone involved in this marching band. This is not only amazing, but inspirational. I played the concert arrangement of this song this year and fell in love with it. This has made me fall in love all over again. Amazing effort, amazing commitment, amazing work.

The change in style of the current band director and this band director is insane. Now the shows are more upbeat meanwhile when the old band director was in charge the shows were more moody and left a bigger impact

Respect guys... even for synphonic orchestra in simple orchestral situaition this piece is hard enough to perform... But performing it like this is amazing... bravissimo!

4:48 wow that view. We don't get *that* in New England. As someone who is playing this in concert band, I couldn't imagine marching it. Outstanding job!

Samuel Russo ha that's funny, cause I did alto sax in 2016 too! Switched to bari in 2017 though. Small world isn't it

I love how the angel is a trembling, weak-kneed, fluttering mess, and the black dressed witch is confident, focused and ambitious. By the end, the witch kills everyone. I mean, yay on a surprise ending, but what's the takeaway? Is this part one? It's hard to tie up a dramatic premise with a bow in nine minutes, but you have to at least try, especially with binary elements like a witch and an angel. I'd go with this new ending: First, bring the cauldron down front where we can see. The black dressed witch gets thrown in the cauldron against her will by some of the ensemble members, but in a surprise move, the white angel saves her, gets her out! The witch recovers and extends her hand for a grateful thank you handshake to the white angel, but the angel simply runs away. At the end, the silver tarp wafts over and the ensemble rips off a velcro uniform strip hiding a white streak underneath. They are changed, in some small way, for good. Hey at least this way there's some accountability and some depth of character. On odd days, switch it around. The angel gets thrown in the cauldron by some of the ensemble members, but the witch saves her, the angel extends her hand as a thank you, but the witch walks away after saving the angel.

Only thing that throws me off still is that it's not quite in sync so the guard looks like we're off.

Ok really good but did not like moving from one contest to another! Just show them at one site! They are good! I did not like that back and forth. But great sound and great marching!!!
@GetagoMC9 жыл бұрын
Y'all rushed the quarter notes. Your bd probably told you but it isn't supposed to sound like that.
@TracksJosh7 жыл бұрын
It's a marching band. they will rush on some notes.
@dustinorndorff67646 жыл бұрын
It was probably so they could stay in the required time frame I'm not sure how Marching band works outside of Indiana but we have a time limit Cause I mean they were able to shave almost a minute of the original song so...

I played this in marching this year and know of many other bands that have as well, songs can be both for concert and marching
@oakerii5 жыл бұрын
You think they didn’t know that? They’re in band too, idiot.
@linad1195 жыл бұрын
They are rushing over the quarters and also it's way too fast in general..
@gabe917034 жыл бұрын
If they didn't rush then they wouldn't have enough time to perform this song as it's an 11 minute song while most marching bands get 10 minutes to perform their show
@whitepudding91936 жыл бұрын
Beautiful song, but like I say it every contest that we are at, this isn't marching band, marching band doesn't consist of props and actors, it consists of hard-working band players that don't need actors to tell a story through a song or props to visualize a setting. Hell, some of the Bands we go up against have sound board with narrators, if you need someone to tell the story of the song you're playing DURING the song, you're not doing a good job
@bro7485 жыл бұрын
I see a band, and I see them marching... it most certainly is a marching band. Not every show needs to keep it's message and meaning subtle. Some people prefer it when there are actors and props. Some, like you, prefer it when there are none. So, you can go watch another show and let people who like this type of show watch this show.
@unknownartist1135 жыл бұрын
Band is changing. It's a change for the better. Used to without props you might not have been able to understand what the show was about. Now that we have combined soundboard, props, and various set designs and shapes you have a better understanding of the show. Classic marching doesn't get you to win either. It's all cutthroat from here on out
@MP-li2yk5 жыл бұрын
@@unknownartist113 you know, props aren't a problem, but they should at least be creative or subtle and the show needs to leave some to the imagination. You shouldn't need to say exactly what's going on, at most just a short narration to paint a picture in the viewers head.
@MP-li2yk5 жыл бұрын
Not saying anything against the video though, this show is really good.
