Another production that's absolute gold, Tom. Thanks to training in Gritter's barn, I was at several of these meets that 'Hawk mentions. Mike Maxwell's meets were some of my favorites. And Gritter got the elusive 600 lb bench he'd been chasing for so many years at the same meet that CH broke his arm. It sure as hell wasn't funny at the moment, but if anyone remembers the voice of Lou Costello, imagine him screaming, "You broke my fucking arm!" and that's what 'Hawk sounded like! LOL!! I've got a lot of respect for CH. Always a great guy to talk to at meets.

I appreciate these podcasts as I have followed the gym for over 30 years, but have only met a few members. I would love for you to do a steroid story podcast on how they got their drugs, the drugs they could get in Ohio, members who weren’t on steroids or cycled on and off them, etc. Obviously PEDs were discussed in Westside vs the World, but I think it would be interesting how their drug processes were accomplished.

Was that meet in Avon Lake when he broke his arm?

Yes it was the meet in Avon. I competed in that meet. He is recalling it correctly. He broke his arm, they cut his shirt off and for some reason his lifting suit was down. He was standing in front of the audience in his underwear with all the Westside guys around him. Louie also said ok lets get this meet moving. Most of them did not stay for their trophies. So when Louie states he did not care about trophies only records, that's 100% true!
