Season one was so good, especially the philosophical debates. subsequent seasons seemed like they were written by a different team

Who else saw Season 1, stopped a few episodes into Season 2, forgot them and chose to remember this as a perfect single season show? 👊

*Between the complexity off the Story and the long gaps between seasons. I can't even remember what the upcoming stakes will be for this season. All that being said I'll definitely be tuning in once June rolls around!!*

I agree with Anthony Kariuki commenting below. What stood out about the first season was the philosophical issues of consciousness, identity, and freedom. That was drawing on Julian Jaynes' theory of the bicameral mind (i.e., bundle theory of mind) as replaced by interiorized and narratized egoic consciousness based on a container metaphor of the separate self. There was such a depth of ideas that made that first season compelling and interesting, if most viewers were unfamiliar with the source material. It probably went over the average viewer's head, but it was so well integrated into the story and character development that one didn't need to have read Jaynes' book to grasp the basic sense of conflict, suffering, and longing. The later seasons largely, though never entirely, lost this element. I kept watching it, though, because it does carry forward the ideas that were set forth early on. In some ways, the later seasons articulate more fully what is at stake with freedom, does it exist and what might it mean. Even the worst episodes of this show are far better than the vast majority of what is available in other shows out right now. Few shows can compare.

S1 was flawless, the crux being Sir Anthony Hopkins, who's poetry in motion. Could've easily been a stand alone, limited event series. S2 and S3 was good, I guess to extend the other lore.

Loved the first season, got through season 2 and that was it.

Westworld, where the west part is subjective

Seems visually striking and like they are going to set up some amazing reveals. I really hope this season brings Westworld back up to the quality we experienced for the first season, because it was so good that even though S2 and, in my opinion, especially S3, fell short, I'll still be tuning in with aniticipation.

Should have just been a 1 season miniseries, last two seasons were virtually incomprehensible. I only watch for the amazing cinematography now...

I pretty much enjoy them all, season 1 being the standout, of course. Now that its been some good time, especially since the first season, I will start from the beginning again (3rd or 4th time for season 1) and maybe will appreciate ALL the seasons being able to watch it in a continuous manner. a show like this, especially the third season is difficult to watch week by week when there's time jumps and nonlinear story telling.

Is it really just me who loved ALL seasons? ALL!? And loved Season 3 EVEN MORE!?!?

There’s a lot of complaints about Season 3, and a lot of them are justified. That being said, the premise of robots vs. worldwide supercomputer was great. It just never felt like it lived up to how cool an idea that could have been.

I legit cannot remember most of season 3. I went back and watched a recap and though I watched it, I literally can't remember most of it. I may have tp re-watch because I love how spooky this looks

season 3 was fascinating, i hope this show keeps evolving and exploring forever. so many different "worlds" to explore

I really liked the first season, but the second season never really hooked me and i stopped watching. I had no idea there was a third season at all.

Hell yes I am so stoked for this!! I know some people didn't really like S3, but I have high hopes! This is my favorite t.v. series.

I regret that I'm likely to be inundated with Westworld vids in my feed because I made the mistake of clicking on a video for the fourth season of a story I cared about for precisely one season.

Season 2 wasn’t bad in my book. 3, like dude said above is like a different show. But once I start something good I see it through till the end. I actually like the idea of peoples lives being unknowingly dictated by an algorithm. That is one that rings true today and will even more so in the future unless we do something to steer the corse. I watch sci fi for the real world implications and to think about possible uses of tech. I love thinking and sci fi makes me do a lot of it. (Even “not so great” ones have gems) I think of them more as allegories than fiction. But that’s just my 2 cents.. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Everyone is going on about season 1 and how good it was but forgets that we are literally living in season 3

Just so everyone understands, there's supposed to be 5 seasons max. Season 1 is really an introduction to the characters and concepts. Season 2 details how Delores gets out of the park. Season 3 shows what she does to gain control in the real world... and seasons 4 & 5??? We will find out.
