Wet Mud & Manure VS skid steer. Working on the farm

The barnyard hadn't been cleaned in years and the manure was piling up bad. Then it started Raining. Pushing and moving HUGE piles of sweet smelling manure is AWESOME! It may look like I'm just cleaning out the barn yard but to me its like going back to my childhood.

The best smell is the first silage or hay cut for the season always a favorite. Great job again and that ask looks like a great investment for a farm due to what you just showed us lol.

I get river bank muck during spring high water on my beach. Smells awful. I agree that cow manure smells kind of sweet. Got my 100 foot by 15 foot boulder retaining wall engineered and built; learned how to do it from your vids, Stan. Did it all myself. Appreciate learning from you. Two local excavation pros came out to bid the property next door for the same kind of boulder wall and looked at mine and said it’s built better than they would have done it. You’re the man, Stan!

Thanks Stan, I grew up on an Angus farm 50 miles west of Chicago. We had feedlots with lots of manure, large fields and pastures, a couple creeks and ponds and swamps. I, like you, would not trade it for anything!

You need an RT25 for inside the barn and a snow bucket for the RT75 to shuttle it out to the pasture . You made it work. Nice Job!

Wish I have access to one... done same job but with an old New Holland with a bucket and back blade... it rains u start alternating brakes to get out. But you get the job done it is to tight then I just jump off and start moving it by hand. Good work, it is good for the soul.

Nailed it about the sweet smell of silage and the scent of cow manure...take it any day over chicken and pig. Nothing beats growing up on the farm and the experiences it carries forward in ones life...sounds, smells, work ethic.....it sticks to one like la perfume of cow crap

I know you probably know this but you should definitely give the skid loader a good cleaning because if you let that stuff sit on your machine for a while it while start to chew away at everything just like salt does when snow plowing. Also great video

Stan my tip for you if you ever do manure again with a skid is give it grease before you start and after because manure will is a lot harder and wears down grease a lot faster than dirt does trust me I’ve learned the hard way on it

Love the farm videos, keep them coming. I sympathize with your allergies. I spent the day on my '50 Allis Chalmers WD mowing fields and Zyrtec didn't help. And as a bonus, I got poison ivy on my arms and legs..

I am wondering how you like those style tracks for working in dirt I have only just the wider treaded track that come standard on most skid steers it looks like those tracks are really getting a pretty good bite on the ground so I would love to hear what you have to say on them

my buddy put a pitchfork through his boot, through his foot and the farmer said calmly come here son and than put his foot on it and then pulled the fork out. DAMN oh think we were about 10 to 12 years old

yt jay I’ve been using a skid steer on the farm since 78. For mucking out and things like that there just isn’t any competition, the skid steer is just way better. But for field jobs, plowing, etc, the tractor is just way better.

i would really like to see a walk around video of the RT-75, I'm interested in buying one but there is very little footage of the details of the machine on youtube. Id like to see a close up of the outside and well as the inside, and your thoughts on the machine like a short review. I've heard that the operators area is very small so i'd like to hear your opinion.

Stanley, I have been in the market to pick up one of these ASV RT75's BUT my mechanic says they are a nightmare to work on. What is your take on this? Have you experienced any break downs and repairs with the unit that would steer you away from purchasing one?

we have a rule, guess you can call it the number 1 rule when using machinery, if someone wants you to stop, you stop and find out why, #2 rule on farms make the gates extra wide, #3 rule make the entrance / exit thru gates straight, i'm surprised the old farmers didn't put the poles far enough apart for all future machinery. personally i would replace those poles.

Edit: Build covered area. Transport 50 yards at a time under covered, let manure dry. Get a manure spreader, spread dry manure on the land. Yes it will not be done in a day.
