Walk through the wet and wild water park at the Aska Lara hotel with me.
We stayed here the last 2 weeks of August 2022.
The water park is separate to the hotel as the hotel is on the other side of the road, there is a shuttle bus which picks up every 15 min it’s about 1/2 min on there, the bus has ramps and is wheelchair accessible and easily accessed by pushchairs. If like me you prefer to walk ( the bus is usually very full) then it’s only a 5 min walk at most. There is a crossing over the main road but take care when crossing. You will find a few stray dogs about when you walk these are super friendly my boys fell in love with one , they didn’t hassel you so if you just ignore them they won’t come near you.
You can stay at the park all day there are 2 restaurants with inclusive food, the pool snack bar and the lounge restaurant they serve wraps , burgers , pizza and more.
There is a fresh salad buffet and table service.
You can also get pancakes with cheese or meat my favourite was with the potato they are made fresh to order and delicious. The jacket potato’s are amazing there is cheese , sausage and some salad toppings a few times we got out potato and went to the lounge restaurant for a big salad and tuna to accompany it!
There is a great ice cream selection around 5/6 flavours plus a fridge of ice lollies about 3 varieties of twister lollies the blueberry one is amazing, and some chocolate covered ice lollies plenty to choose from.
There are many branded drinks at the bars which are inclusive but if you don’t specify you will get house brand.
Also in the lounge bar I think you pay but there are phone charging lockers just incase you run out of power.
A couple of downside points for us anyway
❌
People go down really early to reserve sun beds I mean one day we thought we would like to be at the front of the pool my husband went down at 8 and they were all already with towels on and then you’d see the beds still empty at lunch time it’s so annoying we didn’t join the sun bed club we always got a space somewhere when we headed down around 10 but it does get very busy so it is wherever you can get!
❌
Smoking !!! There are no smoking zones it os just everywhere Even around the kids pool , and they are strong cigarettes smoked by people that smoke a lot its an obvious cultural difference, we had go move a few times i appreciate people smoke but this was overload! So if hou dont like to smoke nust watch where you sit in the out door restaurants also. This hotel should really consider some non smoking areas.
❌
A bit of a problem with the splash pad coverd in almething black and very slippery but k would hope this is sorted by now.
I would recommend water shoes or socks for children it is slippery when walking around the park if the floor is wet and its also very hot in August.
We enjoyed our stay here the entertainment is fun , the children loved the slides, food was great , good drinks, very attentive staff . More drinks setvicd around the pool would be good 👌🏼
