cant you just turn the truck parallel to the train instead of taking the L and getting your truck destroyed?

THERE IS A CELL PHONE VIDEO OF THIS THAT SHOWS EVERYTHING

2 things: 1: You’d be surprised how hard of a hit the train takes. It’s not a rolling unstoppable force. It can and will take damage. 2: There’s footage posted by CBS Chicago shot by a passerby… and it’s shaky af. Why can’t people keep the phone straight… like, ever? It’s so dump. It’s worse than when someone records vertically.(Always record horizontally, or else you’ll seem dumb).

You make it sound as if everyone should have their phone ready to take video at a moments notice, normal people aren't like that. It was "shakey AF" because he was trying to get the video footage as the people in cars in front of him were attempting to back up, he dropped the phone as he was attempting to backup as well, picked the phone up off his lap just in time to catch the impact. Watch that video again and you'll see what I am talking about, so stop your sniveling.

@@mitchmoe6224 the idea of _Situational Awareness_ seems to be lost on my generation. And those who defend people with no awareness, likely are angry because they couldn’t do any better.
@mitchmoe62242 жыл бұрын
@@ziggy3237 obviously you weren't aware of the situation, otherwise you wouldnt have complained about the guys shakey video. Personally wouldn't have bothered with the video when the gates came down on the moving truck, seems some generations of people feel that catching the incident on video is more important than assessing the situation around them. I know quit a lot about what happened because I am the foreman of the electrical contractor that just built the new inbound and outbound stations in Clarendon Hills. I am sitting here writing this in the parking lot just 30 feet from were the truck burned and contaminated the ground with its fuel. Sidewalks, curbs and asphalt was removed to clean up fuel, they did so without telling anyone what their plan was which led to them cutting through a shit ton of snowmelt cable in the platform. How is that for "situational awareness" when there are brass plaques embedded in the concrete saying "caution: snowmelt wiring embedded in concrete" 😅

I would say that the truck driver should be prosecuted for whatever the US equivalent of 'Causing Death by Dangerous Driving' might be.

What's sadder is that the casualty was a passenger on the train. Ain't that sad? Imagine being in that train and seeing that. I hope that driver is more scarred than the passengers on the train for causing that death, and permanently traumatizing several others.

N*gga the truck got stuck on the tracks
@isuckatnames26592 жыл бұрын
@@catermelony but... That's easily avoidable. Crossings are made to be driven over. They aren't designed for retards to drive around the downed gates all willy nilly. They have lights, bells, and gates for a reason... People bitched and moaned about the noise from the train horns... Mother fucker... The horn/whistle (was) initially implemented to warn people near the crossing, "hey, big ass hunk of metal coming through. Get out of the way." why would even try to defend the driver?

It's a fact of modern life that changes are needed and will be expensive. When freeways replaced surface streets, roads were closed. When powerlines in the forests were put underground, backroads were closed. These are acknowledged expenses. Financially supporting extremists who hate USA, nope.
