I feel like what Nurgle represents how conscious beings adapt and adopt madness in clinging to life. We all consciously know we will die either due to entropy or disease we all die and are aware of the reason why even from an early age where as a bird or a cat would not consider such things. it is in clinging to life we adapt Apathy and distraction to the ultimate fact we seek to deny and delay suffering though our actions. What Nurgle and his servants represent is the madness of realizing our lives are probably pointless and the only thing we use to validate ourselves and our lives is how much we are suffering. Nurgle says why not just self destruct and end your pain by embracing and loving it. Nurgle says its pointless to be productive and hardworking to develop because ultimately it will only deepen your misery in the face of the fact your flesh will rot and die. Nurgle says to enjoy and spread the rot because fearing it is what makes you sad. The fight against death is one you will eventually lose. it kind of makes sense in a real world way is sterilizing everything and avoiding disease weakens the immune system. Avoiding pain in life and embracing comfort is a poison. Nurlge says here confront your weakness take in all these diseases and ill at least make you happy and you will not feel the pain of rot. I would view nurgle as almost like a paradox i dont fully understand ie he infects his servants with diseases in order to make them more hardy and they become happy and jovial. I dont know if its denial and delusion, they become masochists and enjoy pain and misery. The ultimate twisted thing and what makes nurgle evil is that I think all his mortal champions suffer badly but he empowers them with "gifts" to spread to the living so they may become infected, suffer and die because Nurlge gains power from entropy. In essense he turns his followers into engions of fuel that cannot die or will not get to enjoy a regular life cycle. Nurgle specifically" loves and blesses them and they are forced to do his bidding for several reasons but eseentially they are deluded pawns or slaves to his will who probably desire death but will not be granted it because they are so good at spreading death, decay and misery to others. Being a champion of nurgle is true suffering because at least their victims get to eventually enjoy oblivion. Eternal life being a slave to any form of deity seems like a horrifying fate to me because after a while you might realize existance and consciousness is limited and painful constantly seeking meaning out of nothing and distraction. The human mind can only handle so much and the science proves it as people go senile and suffer from dementia. Their personalities break down after a while it seems the vanity of resisting natural death is a major psychological issue of modern society and not something human consciousness was prepared for. ie in ancient times we only lived for maybe 30-40 years tops amd i think thats pretty natural, this is why you see people hit things like mid life crisis because they essentially hit their biological theshold and have a crisis where their mind at some subconscious level perceives they should be dead by now but arent so what do i do about this? Now you have people living to be over 100. I've seen many old people die and rot away and honestly its not pleasant. I think modern civilization is a lie and trying to better ourselves with technology is a mistake because we only end up increasing our suffering and living a life of lies rather than accepting our limitations and what we are made for. In this Nurgles purpose may be correct as if he fulfills his purpose then he will eventually lose power and cease to exist because all the conscious beings in the galaxy will have reverted back to their intended base purpose. Id see nurgle as almost a reaction to a mistake within the universe. Tldr Nurgle was spawned by a collective group consciousness realizng that modern technology and medicine that are keeping us alive are actually destroying us and making us unhappy. Nurgle's rot is what restores balance as he will corrode and destroy everything that created such a perverse and mad god in the first place. Nurgle is love in a a sense because he embody's salvation that everyone will resist because they are unwilling to accept the hard truth that the vanity of intelect is the devil and we are better off being cavemen with no ambition or understanding of the universe. Its better off to accept reality and limitations and that attempting to warp reality or extend your grip on life in supporting a false system is ultimately pointless. So spread the rot of happiness, nurgle loves you!
