I ran this ride at Joyland in 1976 for the entire Summer. Good times. Back then it still had the outside drop down and back up.

You would have been operating this when I rode it as a 11 year old kid. Our church took a bunch of kids that day. Precious memories.

I only remember the drop down. I was surprised to see it level in this video

My childhood! They took out the little outdoor hill you would swoop down back when I was a kid. That was the best part. I think a girl had fallen out and was severely injured, ruining it for everyone.

I will be visiting Joyland within the next couple months. Really sad Wacky Shack burned down, it was a ride that always fascinated me. I love Mr Tracy's dark rides and it sucks we lost this one to fire.

I wish more people had videos of the ride and some design details about the animatronics and the karts

I rode this when I was a kid in the 80's. This was a great trip down memory lane. There was one very similar to this that I rode, and I'm trying to remember where, but I was so excited when I found it because- remember the pattern at the top, above the words "Wacky Shack?" It was always turning and kind of an optical illusion? This had the sam thing, and the track that came outside on the "second level," so when I saw it I said, "I don't care how many tickets are required, we MUST ride this." I remember it being similar, but not quite the same.

I was scared to death of this ride back in the 70s when I was a wee thing. Of course, Louie the Clown is the one that left lasting trauma, lol.

The video was true to form. I remember the lighting was really bad in this ride. I thought it was really a very poor ride. Sorry to those who enjoyed it. But it was all good because it was just fun to be at Joyland. I was 11 years old when I went with a church group.
