Can't fight the GAS anymore? Here's all my favorite gear: thmn.to/thocf/d2hw9pqzcp
It's been a while since I've used my Teenage Engineering OP-Z, so it was about time to pick it up. So fast, intuitive and fun.
00:00 Chords and plucks
01:19 Drums and bass
02:19 Vocal chops and 808s
03:43 Cooldown
04:02 Another lead
04:56 Final track
I uploaded the track to Soundcloud in case someone wants to have a second listen: / flowerpecker

Oh for sure! I really enjoy making these clips but it's an inconsistent hobby for me because even a 10-minute video takes hours and hours of time in total. I've been making a ton of music during the last few months and tried to actually finish a project, so I've had less time for videos. But in general, more on the way!

Agreed, the design of op-z is amazing. It has quite a bit of features but it’s so intuitive it’s still easy to use without a screen.

I like tho vocal chops. I wanna start using that in my music. Where do you recommend finding vocal chops? Splice? Op1 fun? Awesome video as always.

It reminds me of low key Hudson Mowhawk. I find the op-z is kind of locked to a low-fi chiptune sound. It’s not exactly limited but it’s in that genre more or less. This kind of music is so ubiquitous at the moment. The op-z is kind of the definitive groove box of this exact moment in time. I feel you could sell this tune to a stick music library as it’s just the kind of thing you find accompanying products or KZfaq montage or background music. Which is not an insult. I mean it sounds professional. But also a tad wee bit generic. I make loads of interesting things that are never recorded. So it feels like a toy. Also the double triggers are so demoralising. They are too infrequent enough to make me give up on it but frequent enough to make me dread it a little bit.
