Part 1 in a series where I am making use of some old Wharfdale cabinets and building new baffles for Ditton 22 drivers. Quite a mad build really but I think its going to be an interesting one LOL.

Wow, glad I found your channel. You are lucky to have access to some great vintage British loudspeakers, something us Americans don't see many of. Subscribed!

Ive got a shabby pair of Wharfedale linton xp2 speakers that needs cabinets done. All the drivers are perfect. Watching this for pointers and ideas. Thanks Matt.

I'm building a similar speaker , using a pair of 8" Kef c200sw passive drivers and crossovers as the bass augmentation. The cabinets are transmission line . The 250hz to 3000 handled by a pair of Kef b110 1234 4ohms , Kef t15 midtweeter to around 10k and Coles super tweeter . Fortunately a 25Mreel of self adhesive lead strip has been bought at car boot so looking to lead load the speaker chassis and front baffle . I'm tempted to fit the t15 in a Nautilus style pod on top . It's a budget build and the crossover is from castle acoustics. Building my own super tweeter board add on .

Make sure you shoot measurements and adjust the crossover to work with your drivers and the cabinets there installed in. Good luck with the build

I recently got some Glendale 3xp's to play with. They look largely the same on the inside. One of them wasn't working at all (except form some very low noise from the tweeter). Seller had said so and I hoped for an easy fix, but all drivers were blown all measured infinite. The midrange of the other one had blown too. So now I have a woofer a tweeter and the crossovers (haven't measured those yet). I've put them to use as stands for my subs for now... Maybe you can inspire me a bit with this project ;)

Great idea to use all the odd and ends into unique pieces. This reworked Kingsdale is an fun start. Look forward to seeing how it turns out. l've had a couple of pairs of Dovedale 3. The problem with the bass drivers is often that the surround suspension material goes hard and the low end response changes significantly. I think the Kingsdale is a later model and maybe uses a different surround material. Curious that Wharfedale began to use square magnets for a certain time. Good luck with the New Year projects!

I've had Dovedale 3s and had the same problem with surrounds going hard on the woofers. They're 13" so I couldn't find a suitable replacement surround. Mine had square magnets (as do the 8" woofers in my 1970s Denton 2(?)s). Didn't your Dovedales have square magnets?

The Wharfedale cabinets didn't have acoustic material/foam/wadding in them?

Loads of Poly fill originally. I reused most if it with additional foam added
