What a debut! Kingman colt NOSTRUM looks exciting at Sandown

Not a bad way to kick off your career.
The imposing Nostrum certainly looked the part ahead of his debut and the exciting Kingman colt - out of Mirror Lake and therefore a half-brother to high-class performers including Imaging - looked the business on the track for jockey Ryan Moore and trainer Sir Michael Stoute in the Juddmonte silks.
He's one to note in some potentially nice races, especially as a three-year-old in 2023...

Drawn to Golden Speech’ running from just b4 two furlong marker … it was like he was asking the jockey “you’ve changed your tune: what am I supposed to be doing now?”

The in to take from this race was Arrest. Frankie gave it a ton to do, and it closed an 8 length deficit in the last 3 furlongs on the Godolphin horse who had already ran to a decent standard. The first 2 home had the run of the race out front, clearly the winner was well ready for the first run having been up in the first 2 the entire way. Arrest, by Frankel, was the only one to come from off the pace and made huge inroads on the front 2 only to flatten out in the last 150 yards. IMO Arrest will prove far superior to both of those in front and I guess time will tell if I'm wrong or right.

Succient comments and time will tell. My opinion is the winner is very very good and Arrest won't beat him....ever! 👍

@@frankelpurjal5355 I can honestly say I didn't have a bet in the race. However did back Nostrum for the guineas 2023 for small stakes ew. He did look good. 👀

The horse missed the kick and Frankie had no choice but to sit and suffer. Wasn't a poor ride.

Arrest looks to be an impressive horse, badly positioned in the race and made good strides to finish where he did. One to watch next time out.

I thought Arrest , who ran very green , was the most interesting runner . The winner , Nostrum appeared to know his job and won well , but Arrest might just have the most improvement of all .

The only one to take out of the race is the winner.The third needs much further,or Ryan on its back,who is so consistently good,unlike many others,altho Buick holly and Tom are improving.

I would think it’s the reverse. Big horses need time to grow into their bodies. Forego, and even Dr. Fager, were good at three, great at four.

@@johnhoie1 It's quite confusing, you get some who say big horses have a physical advantage as a two year old and then you get some who say they make better three year olds, because they strengthen up, myself I think it just depends on the horse.

@@johnhoie1 line of duty is now dead many trainers here in the uk runn them to much to hard as they are teenagers for the prize money stoute although this horse is his it will prop be put away and certainly not sent to the breeders cup haggis is another mindful trainer for the 2 year olds

No it's not a poor ride . Arrest broke slowly and ran green . Frankie didn't give him a hard time .

He rides for Sir Michael and Frankie, usually, rides for John Gosden. The owner decides who wears what colours and any horse sired by Frankel running for Juddmonte will wear the famous pink cap. There is no skullduggery going on and I hope this explains it

Juddmonte colours decided by name thus Arrest had first colours (A) not nostrum(N)
