This is a wonderful pitch man. I have been working on a 6 film script for a Green Lantern film saga pitch and I have castings, draft scripts and my own ideas for an entire saga following the Emerald Knights. I also foreshadow Blackest Night as a two-part end to this saga *(I have an entire saga pitch written below)* I thoroughly believe with real passion and vision Green Lantern could become DC's Star Wars. I hope to share my film pitches someday on KZfaq as well. Film 1: Green Lantern: First Flight: - Hal Jordan's origin, meeting an emotional turmoil Hal Jordan may be cocky but fails to express his emotions after the same circumstances with his mother dying from cancer and Hal feeling emotionally responsible, in addition to coming to terms with his complicated feelings of losing both his father and now the fear and loss he has about losing his mother, but he also needs to accept his emotions and express his fears if he wants to grow. He also has problems with expressing his feelings towards Carol Ferris (his boss), who begins the film as someone who's wise to Hal's cocky macho-man bravado and doesn't fall for it, but when he eventually does share how much he hates himself, and how much he's truly scared about letting others down just like he blames himself for his father and mothers death, that why he goes head first into action to compensate for his own inner hatred and guilt. I also want to ground this story for the first half, and later explore the GLC in the second act with Abin crashing into Earth and Hal taking up the mantle as Green Lantern, where he is also partnered up with Sinestro, explores Oa and meets the Guardians and all kinds of GL members/aliens like Tomar Rae, Ch'p, Boodika, Kilowog who gives him a hard time as a trainee calling him a "Poozer" but soon grows to like Hal for his natural instincts with danger. Sinestro is still in mourning after learning about Abin's death, and though he hides his distaste for Hal as Abin's successor, he soon learns to open himself up to Hal and accept him as a partner while simultaneously teasing his own inner hatred for the Guardians and their hypocrisy/bureaucratic opposition to handling intergalactic threats. The villain in this film would be Krona and The Manhunters, who act as a direct personification of cold emotionless machines that the Guardians first used, and Krona would act in his own quest to get revenge on the Guardians for banishing him, even though my take on Krona was banished only because he wanted to explore what existed outside of the universe, the rest of the Guardians opposed his actions with no legitimate justification, thus allowing Krona to activate a failsafe in the Manhunters to go rogue years ago. After millennia of unjust banishment, Krona returns to get even and reactivates the Manhunters to take out the Corps. Hal and Sinestro together, in a 'Training Day'-Esque premise, act to stop him and Krona acts as a dark reflection of Hal and his natural instincts and distaste of authority, when Krona went against unjust authority he was punished, just as Hal has over the years and Krona tries to persuade him, but Hal learns to overcome his inner hatred and fear of letting overs down as he's learnt throughout the film to embrace his emotions and accept his fears and insecurities, working alongside Sinestro they defeat Krona and The Manhunters, Hal is respected amongst GLC/Oa and amongst Sinestro, Hal comes to terms with his insecurities and learns to make peace with the loss of his parents and discovers a new purpose in life, while opening himself up to Carol (teasing their eventual romance). Furthermore, we would reveal at the end that the Guardians secretly knew about the Manhunters yet do not share their connections with any GL, and it is only when Krona tells Sinestro about how the Manhunters were created by the Guardians and killed millions, especially Sector 666, only then does Sinestro feel betrayed by his Corps and beliefs thus forcing Sinestro to make it seem that Krona committed suicide when really he killed himself with a ring and began devising a plan to end the injustice teasing his downfall. Post credit scene also teases John Stewart and Atrocitus. Film 2: Green Lantern: Rage of the Red Lanterns - introduce Atrocitus and the Red Lanterns as a new Lantern factions, acting rebellious vigilantes against the Guardians as Atrocitus much like the comic is burdened by the loss of his family and people under the Manhunters and blames the Guardians, as he learnt that they were responsible from the time he was with the Five Inversions (hypothetically explored in a Green Lantern anthology show). Atrocitus forms the Red Lanterns to kill members of the GLC to get closer to Oa. Hal and Sinestro are introduced to new Lanterns John Stewart and Guy Gardener, and with Kilowog and Tomar's help they separate into teams to stop the Red Lanterns. Hal also learns to accept new allies and has to deal with Carol Ferris being taken over by the Star Sapphires/Zamarons who left the Guardians to create the Star Sapphire Corps of love. Essentially revolving around a theme of accepting love and not hatred. We also have Sinestro revea the lies the Guardians have been hiding about the Manhunters and Ganthet takes full responsibility as he and a another Guardian Sayd admit to their actions, feeling nothing but guilt and shame. The Guardians are forced to banish Ganthet as well after he opens up about the truth and they discover his experiments to use the blue light of 'hope' as a power source. Luckly Sayd gives Ganthed the means to activate the blue light initiative to depower all Red Lanterns. Sinestro in the end of the film betrays Hal and reveals how he has been using the Weaponers of Qward to create his own Lantern ring and use prisoners from Oa's science cells to emmass an entire army of prisoners to go against the GLC after the years of lies and hypocrisy that Guardians have hid, which is fyirther personified by Atrocitus and his pure rage filled hatred as he wishes to die in peace knowing he's gotten his revenge for his family and people. Hal is utterly mortified by Sinestro's betrayal and doesn't want to fight his friend and despite Sinestro also not wanting to fight Hal he knows that he must do this in order to truly allow his perception of true peace to prosper in the universe as it will be governed by fear since will is not enough to keep people like Atrocitus at bay, especially if they can create their own power rings. Sinestro is forced to subdue and badly injure Hal, while also revealing Boodika switched sides after Sinestro revealed the truth to her, releasing all the prisoners to become Yellow Lanterns. Hal is speechless of his friends betrayal and badly injured. Then the film cuts to black. Also tease Saint Walker Film 3: Green Lantern: Fear - adapting Sinestro Corps War Film 4: Green Lantern: Agent Orange Film 5: Green Lantern: Blackest Night Part 1 - I plan to have my take on Willian Hand introduced in Film 5, but also teased in Film 1, in Film 5 he would actually be friends with Kyle Rayner, be college roommates, and show how much Kyle cares for William as a friend. My take on William Hand would be in his early/mid 20's and be a mentally struggling/suicidally depressed person as he has struggled with hearing voices of the dead his entire life, and has been thought of as mentally ill by his family, acting as the black sheep of the Hand family, isolated by his brothers and emotionally disregarded by his parents, who have treated him with cold, controlling discontent as they see him as a failure, leaving William to be emotionally alone his whole life until Kyle treats him like a real person, giving William compassion. In Film 5 I would begin the Blackest Night by having it centred around all the Earth GLs (Hal, John, Guy and Kyle) attempting to save William Hand from Sinestro and Atrocitus from working together to try and kill William to prevent the Blackest Night as he is destined to unleash Nekron. Not only that but The Guardians would also order Green Lanterns from all sectors to hunt down William Hand as they too are terrified by the Blackest Night (The Guardians as hypocrites to their code) thus creating massive tension and conflict throughout the Corps. It all being a race to save this one guy to prevent the Blackest Night, and it also tackles concepts and questions that even Hal and John struggle with, is one life worth saving when the universe is at stake, is killing William really the right option, especially if has suicidal tendencies?

Love the story pitch! I’ve been working on my pitch for a DCU 10 year plan and my Green Lantern trilogy is similar to yours villain wise for each film except I introduced Lar Fleeze as antagonist alongside Sinestro in my third film. Great minds think a like lol. I also introduce John Stewart in the second film to help further drive Sinestro to becoming the villain. Would love to see your other takes on the rest of the DC universe!

@@jamiebaseballin2 Thanks so much. Would also love to hear your ideas and predictions for the DCU as well. I have a lot of plans for characters like Superman, Flash, Wonder Woman, The Teen Titans etc... and many other characters with a lot of castings in mind. Interesting idea to have Larfleez fight alongside Sinestro in film 3, what would be his motivations since Larfleez isn't the keenest on sharing or working with others? BTW what do you think about some of my ideas for Hal's arc, Sinestro's arc, William Hand and Kyle's connection? Id love to get feedback and collaborate on ideas.
@jamiebaseballin2

@@milkiassamuel780 I’d imagine Sinestro promising him the sole power of the Yellow Lantern if he helps in the fight against the Green Lanterns. Not everyone has something they want or desire, but everyone has something they fear, which would help play into Lar Fleeze’s mindset. Ultimately, Sinestro would betray at Lar Fleeze at some point because he had no intention of honoring his deal he just wanted to use Lar Fleeze for his own vendetta against the corps. The whole theme of my third movie would revolve around temptation and those who succumb to it or overcome it. I love your arc of Sinestro, someone so committed to the cause of the corps who slowly sees the hypocrisy of the Guardians and realizes he may have actually been on the wrong side of the fight. In my trilogy not only are Hal and Sinestro great friends but I’d show Sinestro developing some feelings towards Hal, which he would try to keep suppressed because he’s unsure of what to think of it. Some people may have an issue with Sinestro being gay, but it would add an interesting dynamic in my opinion. I know the popular fancast for Sinestro is Luke Evans, but my personal pick is Zachary Quinto or Ben Whishaw

I totally disagree about the secret identities. Hal protects his real identity for the same reasons as anyone else. He doesn't want his enemies going after the people he cares about. DC has always focused more on secret identities than Marvel, so saying the MCU doesn't have them doesn't justify it. Otherwise, Hal literally doesn't need the mask, which just makes him look like Guy Gardner

That is a awesome pitch black lion. I can't wait to actually see green lantern in the new DCU. To be honest even though people say that the 2011 green lantern movie was bad I still liked Ryan Reynolds interpretation of Hal Jordan.

I did too. The movie being bad wasn’t bcuz of him. And if the rumors of them wanting kind of a buddy cop type thing with an older Hal and younger John Stewart are true…..then they should definitely bring back Ryan to play older Hal as Ryan was really good in the role and he’s in his mid 40’s now so he could mentor John as a new Lantern in the corps

I completely agree as they should start with Hal Jordan's origin to flesh out his character, and then introduce other GLs like John, Guy and Kyle down the line, I have an entire saga planned out, with 6 films, a tv anthology series about the GL Corps and alien members, and an animated short focused on Ch'p and Dex-Starr. You can read my pitch in my comment section. BTW I do like your casting of Micheal C Hall as Black Hand as he certainly can nail the creepiness of the character, although I plan to have my take on Willian Hand introduced in Film 5, but also teased in Film 1, in Film 5 he would actually be friends with Kyle Rayner, and be college roommates, and show how much Kyle cares for William as a friend. I have always thought Green Lantern should start with Atrocitus or the Red Lanterns and save Sinestro as the villain later on so we get his friendship with Hal, sort of like how Smallville was as much about Lex going down the road to villainy as it was about Clark learning to be a hero and live with his abilities, I think a GL movie that does the same with Hal and Sinestro would be awesome. I've also always wanted a Blackest Night movie.

This is honestly very good very well thought out I had a couple issues I believe that setting up atrocities to be an overarching villain is a great idea but we have to remember that in his mind atrocities is not the villain he is angry so once William hand gets the cosmic control rod I think that's where atrocity should end until we bring him back in a post credit scene where a Red lantern ring comes out of his heart

Hal Jordan, a hot-shot pilot, a fearless and honest man, who has vast confidence in his own abilities---whose arc is learning to question himself. Furthermore, we would reveal at the end that the Guardians secretly knew about the Manhunters yet do not share their connections with any GL, and it is only when Krona tells Sinestro about how the Manhunters were created by the Guardians and killed millions, especially Sector 666, only then does Sinestro feel betrayed by his Corps and beliefs thus forcing Sinestro to make it seem that Krona accidentally died, but really Sinestro made it seem like he accidentally died, all without using his ring to cover up his actions and make sure they weren't recorded, he and began devising a plan to end the injustice teasing his downfall. Instead of a movie i think this should be a TV show. So you have enough time to fully flesh out the characters like Hal Jordan and William hand and better set up future plot points like the darkest Knights. The TV series should be called Green lantern corp. The cast will consist of Hal, Sinestro , kilowag and Laira in the first season then later it consistently of Hal, Kilowag, Razer, Guy Gardner, Aya, Laira and Kyle Rayner.

Great pitch, dude! I think the direction the Green Lantern movie and trilogy should go is be a space adventure/buddy cop with Hal and Sinestro as the protagonist, showing their development from partners to enemies (very similar to Obi Wan and Anakin). Blackest Night could be the "Infinity war/Endgame" of the new DCU, this big crossover with all the heroes (not just the lanterns but also the JL, JSA, the Titans maybe even the Legion of Doom) coming together to save the universe from Nekron and the Black Lanterns. It would be interest after all films showing the heroes being badass and saving lifes now having to fight the Black Lanterns, who could be the people they failed to save.

I thoroughly believe with real passion and vision Green Lantern could become DC's Star Wars. In Film 5 I would begin the Blackest Night by having it centred around all the Earth GLs (Hal, John, and Kyle) attempting to save William Hand from Sinestro and Atrocitus from working together to try and kill William to prevent the Blackest Night as he is destined to unleash Nekron. Not only that but The Guardians would also order Green Lanterns from all sectors to hunt down William Hand as they too are terrified by the Blackest Night (The Guardians as hypocrites to their code) thus creating massive tension and conflict throughout the Corps. It all being a race to save this one guy to prevent the Blackest Night, and it also tackles concepts and questions that even Hal and John struggle with, is one life worth saving when the universe is at stake, is killing William really the right option, especially if wants to die? just literally start the movie with all the characters, zero build up. People know who Green Lantern is. Green Lantern corps would also be sick. Hal, Guy, Jon, and Kyle all being the protagonists against something like Sinestro would be cool. Or just immediately jump into blackest night. Flash's first movie is Flashpoint. Why not just immediately jump into the good stuff?

I agree with you including Glen Powell casting but I disagree with having the first movie be on earth , that was the big criticism about 2011 movie , not enough world building they should follow Avatar leaning in heavily on special effects, CGI creates the universe of the Green Lantern we got to follow the Avatar's blueprint also the Star Wars blueprint

I rewatched the 2011 movie today out of boredom and curiosity. It was leaving Netflix soon and I wanted to see if it was as bad I remembered. It was thin on plot, poorly edited and character development was absent and still somehow felt rushed. Poorly written dialogue, but acted about as well as could be done with a bad script. But his brothers nephew are in the movie for one scene, and for no reason besides fan service I'd assume. Weird that a fan would gloss over that point from the 2011 movie...

Wow; Just more of the same. You have to start with John Stewart. Hal has had a debut. Geez; why do you continue to keep doing the same thing hoping for a different outcome. You start with John Stewart. On Earth. A threat comes to Earth and Superman with his super hearing comes to Ferris air to help Civilian John Stewart. After they overcome the alien invasion (I would suggest a White Lantern or two) John gets a ring and with the ring he imagines going face to face with Hal Jordan. The ring takes him into outer space on a trip to Oa. Where he comes face to face with Hal. Remember with him working at Ferris Air he becomes close to Carol Ferris (in a brother sister relationship, not another love triangle). When he encounters Hal who is briefing the Oa council on a mission he just returned from. Mentally through the ring John is unaware he is attack Hal and everyone can hear what he is thinking. He and Hal are orders to speak out loud. Hal has no idea who John is and why he is attacking him for his decision to leave Carol behind. Instead of explaining it to John Hal takes a defensive position. This leads to a stand off that is interrupted by the Guardians instructing John to employ his ring for the truth you seek, but get some rest Stewart for your training begins tomorrow and With Katma Tui. Later that night John asks the ring to reveal. The ring shows Hal chose to leave Carol to protect her from attackers attacking her to get to Hal. He understands and promises to apologize to Hal face to face. On Earth Superman is doing what he does to save humanity. Until the invading force sends more forces as the first incursion was nothing more than a scout team. Superman confronts the invaders and Martian Manhunter reveals himself willing in front of the invaders, as a willing partner ready to defend Earth with Superman. Of course Lex is watching this. As the invaders are able to attack multiple areas it gets the attention of Oa. In a split second John and Hal arrives on Earth. When these guys repel the invaders, the Oa honor guard shows up: Katma, Stewart’s trainer, Boodikka (Alpha Lantern leader), Guy Gardner (Honor Guard Leader), and Kilowog, arrive they are instructed to bring back Hal and John but also bring in Kyle Rayner. John and Superman have an exchange where Superman dubs the two SuperFriends for life.

Film 6: Blackest Night Part 2

Given what you said about Hal Jordan's Green Lantern live action movie not doing well in theaters, why go down this road again? Hal Jordan, acted by Ryan Reynolds, had his shot! Why not ask for a live action Green Lantern movie about Alan Scott whom you briefly mentioned? In comics, Alan Scott is a different type of Green Lantern compared to his counter-part comrade Hal Jordan. If a live action movie about Alan Scott was put forth, a Hal Jordan story could be interwoven to show how those two are compatible with one another, since their ring functions have differences.

@@trevturp7687 , I want to see another new Green Lantern live action movie, but it shouldn't start with Hal Jordan as the first solo human Green Lantern. Where is the logic in creating another Hal Jordan live action movie when the goal is to emulate DC stories? If you follow DC comics, like I have, you know that the story of Green Lantern didn't start with Hal Jordan. Why can't we start with where Green Lanterns began, leading to Hal Jordan? Why can't we start with Alan Scott leading to Hal Jordan in the same single movie?

Scott was a Lantern but he was not part of the Corps, that story came with Hal. And by your logic, Batman & Robin was bad so should that mean Bruce Wayne should've been replaced as Batman because B&R was bad?
@seanholmes7482
@seanholmes7482 Ай бұрын
@@Ice-tc5vn , I don't think Batman and Green Lantern are similar characters for anyone to make comparison points. Personally, I think industries do too many stories about Batman (aka: Bruce Wayne) and not enough stuff about other Bat-family members. Green Lantern, in comparison to the Dark-Knight, hasn't had much attention nor has his entire lineage of connected human GL-characters. I mentioned GL-Alan Scott over favoring GL-Hal Jordan because he was introduced first to comic book readers in the "golden age" of past years, like how Batman-Bruce Wayne came before Batman-Terry McGinnis in comics and movies. Lastly, GL-Alan Scott being uniquely different from GL-Hal Jordan makes him more interesting because DC comics established that he's a product or function of the Guardians; also, he's the key to DC's Ion comic book story.

If you want a Green Lantern film done right..... give it to Zack Snyder!!! I've said this about every comic book film, the closer you stick to CANON the more successful your film will be. Green Lantern's first live action film had an antagonist only comic readers knew. And even then with a character that basically HEEL-TURNED Hal Jordan!! And THEN to add insult to injury, you had Hal Jordan ADMIT to being scared! Name ONE Batman film that focused on him being "The World's Greatest Detective". When the animated version does better than the live action version, studio execs might want to find other employment.
