@@chrisbarry9345 probably because the water hasn't tripped any breaker yet. Won't necessarily happen under water either. Depends on the installation. (and also isn't always as dangerous as some other comments suggest either, water isn't that good a conductor and the current flows along the path of least resistance, which may be you, if you're close enough, but might more likely be the closest neutral or other ground connected metal reachable by the shortest path through water (or nothing if the distance is too big))

@@Z0RDR4CK meh we'll see. Studies have shown our country has not moved an inch to the right, or left for that matter, since the first windmill was built in 1082. So our windmill plan seems full proof. Furthermore, Ever since we started building windmills for electricity along the coast line, with the exception some tourists we haven't had any large scale German invasions. so it seems to work the other way around as well.

All that high wind gave me a wicked flashback.... I once did battle with the wind from atop a tall, narrow back porch while wearing a full-length, full-skirted gown. The turbo-strength gust of wind turned my skirt into a sail & caused me to inadvertently & unwillingly parachute off said porch. I hit the ground & rolled like some sort of superhero/commando hybrid. My neighbors, who were looking out their window to watch the incoming storm, later said it was one of the most amazing things they'd ever seen. NOW I can laugh about it.🤗🤣😭

@suchnothing
@suchnothing Ай бұрын
@@zairac2564 yeah in a lot of cases you're actually safer outside an RV than inside it. The RV can get pushed, rolled, or even picked up and dropped if the tornado is strong enough, and that can send furniture and other items crashing onto you, or toss you around the inside. If you're in a vehicle or similar and a tornado is coming, the best thing to do is go outside and find a ditch or other low point in the ground, and lay flat while covering your head and neck with your arms. Although I understand that this is counterintuitive. Most people's first instinct will be to stay as sheltered as possible. But unless the shelter has a solid in-ground foundation, it's only going to make things worse for you.

I never put the net up around my trampoline and I’ve never had to secure it to the ground. It has made it through every storm for about 10 years.

Yep living in America doing tornado drills at school as a child was only one of the several we had. There were also fire, earthquake, and when we were young bomb drills. Ya know just in a nuke got dropped on us we had to know how to get under our desk properly lol

As a resident of the American state of Oklahoma and a former student of meteorology I will say with great sincerity that no tornado has ever snuck up on me. I've never picked up a rock in the yard and had a tornado jump out and scare me!

I watched that tornado from my work in Lincoln Nebraska. It was less than 2 miles away. Being originally from the east coast of the States it was the first tornado I ever saw in real life. 2 more dropped after that one. I've now seen my fill of tornados in real life thank you very much. No more please...

We got hit with an EF2+ tornado in 2018, and 195 km/h winds in a derecho in 2022... and my neighbour's trampoline survived both. Apparently my neighbour is a legend of sticking trampolines down.

3:02 : Saw one of those once (not THIS one, obviously) taking up the entire sky out my front door on my way to the cellar. We made it through in one piece, but that's a memory that lingers. No foolin', the trailer part down the road charged people by the carload to rubberneck at the damage.

1:10 So I'm Canadian, I live in a part of Canada where the worst winds never get to a dangerous level, though from traveling across Canada and the USA I have seen worse storms. Nothing compares to what I experienced in the Netherlands however. 5 years ago for a Girl Guide trip we did a 12 day adventure in the Netherlands, and on the final day we were in Amsterdam and the sky turned grey really fast, then it started to rain, then it became a down poor, then the wind truly picked up. Our leaders sucked, for more than just this incident (they broke several guiding rules as well as Canadian and Dutch laws), so because they paid a lot of money for us to do a cannel tour they made up wait for 3 hours outside in the worst storm I have ever seen. I remember pointing up to the sky and saying, "Man, clouds move really fast in the Netherlands" no, clouds move normally in the Netherlands, it turned out their was a freaking tornado just a single canal over. Our leads had us outside in t-shirts for hours during a freaking tornado! ...My mom wasn't happy with all that she learned when I returned home. Those leaders were lucky charges weren't pressed for this and other stuff they did.

I was in a tornado once. I was in an old Saab 900 and pulled into a ditch. The tornado went right over me, water was coming in through the seals, and thankfully passed over. Fifty feet ahead, trees and road signs were ripped up and twisted around. I had a whiskey when I got home. Good day.
