Not sure if he did but you should always let the system seat for a while after a vacuum, and watch the gage. Sometimes the pressure will go up do to moisture in the system or a leak. Is easier to detect a leak if the system is pressurized with Nitrogen to about 100psi. Let it seat for a while. Vacuum again and check pressure. He is a very neat worker.

first off, I am not criticizing your work because it looks amazing. But I took the route from being an electrician and then going into HVAC, so I might suggest a box offset at the panel side of your EMT. keeps it all flat against the wall until that cute little offset going in at the panel. Just makes for a better overall presentation. first time I've ever been able to make a helpful suggestion because your work is top notch in everything I've seen so far.

Liked the ending. Never heard the dog (don't know whether getting hard of hearing as I age is a bonus or deficit). Saw another comment about how organized you have everything.. i've been trying to achieve that for over 50 years, but since i do just about everything except HVAC, I have so many tools, types of tools, and peripheral supplies, it's just a matter of basic box for each tool, then large totes for all the supplies (smh). Great job. Looks like it was done by a consummate professional ... who also happens to be human and forgot the surge protector (which I likely wouldn't have thought of anyway).
@uxwbill
@uxwbill 2 жыл бұрын
Here I was thinking that it was going to be something really annoying, like leaving a valve core out, forgetting to wire up the indoor unit or something equally silly. A surge protector seems like an easy thing to overlook and harmless by compare... The bloopers just help to reinforce the notion that we're all human and the world isn't the perfect place that videos sometimes make it out to be!

EMT Outdoors? That homeowner will really appreciate the rust stains on their masonry in a few years...

I personally agree with you but I do think that in some states EMT is legal to run out doors. I was trained to never install a single hole strap with the screw on the "top" of the pipe. It is much less prone to giving away if the screw/anchor is on the underside of the pipe.

good job. Ill give you a hot tip for that navac vacuum pump. they use makita batteries. but i see that you have all milwaukee tools so buy an adapter plate that goes from makita to milwaukee. A 9AH milwaukee battery will run that pump for close to 2 hours uninterupted.

Nice work. I may have used PVC conduit (the power risers are) unless it’s not per local code. I installed one last week for a buddy. When he saw the micron gauge, he said he’d never seen another buddy of his, who’s a licensed HVAC contractor, use one. Scary what and who’s doing this work below standards.

I could be wrong. But I thought on mini split systems you can’t get a true superheat reading on the suction line where you had your clamp at. I was always under the impression you needed to take the thing apart and get a reading at the compressor.

In MICHIGAN that electrical would not pass code. It should be 4 wire. The metal conduit will pass code however it will start to rust from being outside. Plastic pipe would pass code however it will never rust.

@@ThePeavey23 I actually think those navacs are pretty slick. Not for every application but imagine needing to pull a vacuum on a ductless unit on the roof of an office building. That would be sweet.

@@brandonrutt2898 all of my ac’s are roof mounts. 1.5-2.5 tons. Sometimes the line sets go down 3 floors. I wish I could lug that little guy up there. Currently use the yellow jacket bullet or the bigger 8 cfm.
