It's been a while since I've played my simplest melodica, the Schylling piano horn. Since I've been obsessed with free reeds lately, I figured I might as well try it with the shruti box. It isn't wholly in tune, but then, it's the Schylling piano horn, which I believe cost $30 when it was still being sold. I like it.
It was a weird day because we had a flood in Toronto. I couldn't go on my usual morning walk in the river valley because the river took over the valley. Everybody's basement got wet, people were abandoning their cars in puddles the size of lakes, and parts of downtown were underwater. With luck, the improv captures the slight surreality of the day.
