I trained with Mel Brown when I was 15, and Esperanza was 14. She was already one of the most talented musicians at the entire camp including the instructors. Andre St. James, Thara Memory, Dan Balmer, all recognized her as a prodigy. During the week, she composed 4 original pieces for a 5 piece. She wrote all the parts, performed with the group, and sang. If you think that you are in any position to criticize anyone that is as talented and accomplished as she is AT HER AGE, you are delusional.

@@stuartmunro6027 It is hard living in a world full of people who can't tell their balls from their brains. You see a cute girl and all reason and logic go out the window. I could prove how bad she is with a pitch meter and a comparison with any average base player and if you never saw what shew looked like you'd agree but you're all controlled by your hormones and have no actual years of musical training or experience as I have. Grammy's are based on sales not talent, you probably like Diana Krall

Well said. This woman is a freak of nature - oozing with talent. I discovered her listening to jazz on pandora, never even knew what a lovely and interesting person she was til I started watching her vids and interviews on youtube. The fact that she happens to be beautiful, graceful, intelligent, with a quick wit and sense of humor is all gravy on top. I can't get enough of her music.

The comments on this page are part of the main reason jazz is one of the most slowest progressing genres ever. People want to keep it in this 50s and 60s box. And because of that, just like Robert Glasper said, in 20 yrs these last few decades wont matter cause we're still pointing to that time. smh. Keep doing your thing Esperanza.

Matheus Lellis e Souza Adrianna Grande booty sex commercial music is what is selling nowadays, Jazz was mainstream music. Nowadays garbage sells more all for the love of money, the root of all evil. Let's be sincere & honest. Spalding beautiful as she is, is not stripping down to sell music. You don't have to bring down standards in order to sell or share your music. Please don't come with that baloney. As someone shared online, Yeah, as a teenager who grew up listening to the older music (especially from the 80s and 90s), to think that the generation before me had the honor to hear legends in their primes churning out actual quality music on an everyday basis is baffling. I mean, they got to hear ART on the radio, like it was nothing. Just from the 90s, 'Vision of Love', 'Candle in The Wind', 'I Will Always Love You'... I can name SO MANY, that were on the radio everyday, and are literal musical masterpieces. And I have the misfortune to say songs like 'Baby' and 'Stupid Hoe' and even 'Call Me Maybe' are what will represent my generation... It's just sad!
@daniellevin30567 жыл бұрын
Matheus Lellis e Souza Robin Thicke provided a perfect example when he explained why his Blurred Lines album was a departure from his previous introspective works. He stated that he made this latest record without serious thought and made songs about having mindless fun. Obviously, Thicke understands how to play the game because he has been catapulted from a moderately successful R&B act to a global chart force, all by singing about his “big dick.”

Ginger Espanola right ,mainstream media and industry control the mindless masses of listeners who a re told what is good music for them to listen to instead of exposure to talent like this they want to control who and what's out there to be heard she one and a hand few of artists I listen to I love self expression from artists who's rawness shows no boundaries ,and not trying to fit into today's sexy take my clothes off twerk my ass for the masses to see ,epitome of class and grace I love her I'm a new fan of hers and other artists like Algebra basset she can be found on UTube as well ,also of Torino Kelly who hasn't souled out yet and hope she never dose ,singer like them and Jasmine Sullivan never get as big as some one like Beyoncé because they don't compromise there self for fame and riches they do it for the love of music real juice that touch and move people like you and I ,well I'll I step down off my soapbox now ,that all I wanted to get across .lol 👍🏽😊
