I got drunk for the first time in my life yesterday. It was at a birthday party from a friend. I have to say it felt amazing just messing around and talking about literally anything with your friends. At first I wasn't feeling much but some time and many drinks later I realised I was drunk lmao. I was even dancing with a friend and we both fell down in the end as the music sped up. I had the most fun I've had in a very long time. Truly an unforgettable experience. I feel like getting drunk has its own time and place so be careful out there yall!

Here's a tip: Before you fall asleep, if you can pull it off, drink one or two glasses of water with sugar, and eat a banana or two, I've found this reduces the intensity of the hangover the next day. Also do it when you wake up, won't hurt and may help.

Alcohol is a strange intoxicant in that its very ineffective compared to many other ways of altering your perception. You need waaay more alcohol molecules to get effects compared to for example weed. A half a liter of beer contains around 25 grams of pure alcohol. 25 grams of THC from weed would devastate you.

I’m from the United States, my first drink was when I was 13, my dad handed me a daiquiri and told me to take a sip. The next time was when I was 17 in Disney world, my dad and uncle told me to try some of their beer because we were in Epcot, the German section, and because I love Germany they allowed me to try it. The most recent time was right in front of my mother, had an entire mango daiquiri to myself. Her words were “yes you can have it, I rather you drink a little bit in front of me than possibly getting drunk with a bunch of teenagers. I’ve never been to a party, never drank anything without their permission, they’re extremely good parents.

I was at a bar on a Saturday. For the beginning of the year in 2020, this was my first time being wasted. Thank god my best friend was there to help me and my girlfriend who wasn’t drunk as me was able to calm me down a little. Basically, the bouncer and my best friend had to drag me out of the bar and into the car. Awesome story to tell. I was very loud and was feeling like I was on top of the world. Being the sad or angry drunk was bad enough.

I have a drinking problem and I wish I never did. I have gone through a lot of depression in the past couple years and I'm getting better at quiting but still struggling. What really hurts is certain people in my family aren't there to encourage me to quit or be there for me but rather criticise me and say hurtful things to me. What some people don't understand is that it's an addiction just like smoking tobacco. Now what I would like to do is has a beer or two every once in awhile, I'm actually a brewmaster and I brew my own beer at home with some of the finest hops you can brew with. My hops have a tropical flavor to them and I love beer, I just hate the addiction. Beer is for tasting, not to get drunk. The purpose for alcohol in the beverage is for sterilization to keep it clean. Believe it or not beer is actually cleaner than any water you drink. When you make beer you have a mash tun along with sparge water then when you go to boil your beer you are boiling it at 212 degrees F which is boiling temperatures which kills any bacteria, on top of that you must go through a sterilization process before fermentation, once you do that you will poor your yeast into your beer and what that yeast does is consume all the sugars that was released from all the grain you used in your mash such as 2-row, munich, crystal you name it and when that yeast consumes those sugars it creates the alcohol. Sorry, got carried away there.. But any how listen to me, please don't get carried away with drinking, it will become your worst enemy and if you don't have enough control like I learned to do then it will not only become your enemy but ultimately destroy your life. My first legal drink was at the safety of my home. With my mother, 3 brothers, and bestfriends with me. We all drank, including my brothers, not my mom though she doesn't drink. We had a very safe fun time. I didn't learn about limits though until I was older. No one told me about it because everyone I knew drank to get drunk. I wish I knew earlier then I might not have done some things. I'm sure many can relate to that. One thing I made sure of though, was to not drink with people who constantly got angry when they were drunk. I only drank with other happy drunks. Also, giiiirl we all have our own drunk stories. 0-hangover instructions from a former college club president, party boss, and general cheerleader - Go Sigma Alpha Sigma! Woo! Figure out your drink size, the drink you can have to maintain drunkenness for about an hour if you give it good sips. Get yourself to feeling good drunk (this is the time to do shots if you want to do shots / get yourself to the drunk line quick) drink a bottle of water, have one drink sized mixed drink, then have a bottle of water. Feel free to repeat the "correctly sized drink" to "bottle or large glass of water" cycle until you get laid or it's otherwise time to wind down the party. Then have an extra water. If you are having trouble keeping it level it's better to let the drunkenness taper off a bit and have to throw a shot in there than to over drink or forget the water, and then you have an excuse to yell "WOO!" and say things like "Damn that's smooth" while coughing and cursing the gods that cheap vodka exists. (If your stomach starts to feel swampy have something with bread-y absorbant carbs in it. Pretzels, pizza, dat bar food kind of thing.) An ounce of prevention works better than any next day cure. Just guzzle water next day if you screw up, maybe some aspirin, 90% of your brain pain is going to be because of low hydration, it's just going to be something you have to wait out if you were dumb enough to skip the water. And if you do ignore people telling you to drink water, see them take in twice as much alcohol as you, and spend the next day groaning and moaning and generally being inconvenient you can expect to hear "SO HOW'S THAT HANGOVER, CAN I GET YOU SOME ASPIRIN? SHAME YOU SKIPPED THE WATER." Protip for fellow party guards: Avoid most beers, especially lite beers, when buying drinks and if someone brings that cheap piss water turn em around and tell them to come back with some smirnoffs or something. It's the low quality that makes people vomit on your carpet. Give a group some angry orchards and then another some bud lite with the same alcohol content and only one group will leave chunks everywhere for someone to deal with, and it ain't the group you gave the tasty cider.

I'm from Sweden where it's legal to drink in bars and restaurants from age 18 and to purchase alcohol in the shop at age 20. But for some reason I still waited until I was 21. I had my first real drink at Stockholm Pride 2015 and got a bit tipsy for the first time. The first and only time I got drunk to the point of getting alcohol poisoning I was 22 and threw up on a train station floor, never again... And now we're here. I'm 24, not really a "going out" type and I enjoy having a couple glasses of wine every now and then. Moderately classy.

Good for you! I wish I had had the willpower to never get drunk again after the first (or even fifth) time I overdid it or that I hadn't fallen back on alcohol to "help" me through difficult times. Sadly, it took me years of blacking out, having embarrassing "damage control" conversations on social media and almost losing my job before I even wanted to do anything about my binge drinking problem. Alcohol is so much more enjoyable in moderation.

I had my first alcohol around 13. I was at my best friend's place and she offered me a sip of vodka. I was curious so I tried it. It was gross but now I'm 16 and I can buy alcohol by myself (I'm German) I can only buy wine and beer and I think wine is actually pretty delicious

I had my first drink on October 4th, 2008. I was 24. But I was going though a very difficult time due to being screwed over by a sociopath so I drank to get drunk and quickly developed a drinking problem. I quit a year later when I found someone who I later married in 2011. We got divorced in 2014 and I been drinking ever since.

Only thing I'd say is that (well at least in my experience) is that spacing out your drinking and having plenty of water and food can lower the risk of a hangover. If I'd drink a lot of wine in just 3-4 hours I could end up really hungover the next day, but if I space it out over like 7, 8, 9 hours and eat and drinking plenty of water, I can often avoid a hangover or at least the worst aspects of it and maybe just feel a bit tired.

The first time I was drunk I was 18 nearly 19. As I do with most things in moderation. I do it alone. And listen to music. Dance around. Play guitar and then put on a movie and it's great. Too many times at parties and encouraged did I get out of hand. Learned from that and never again.

I was told by my father that when you throw up while drunk it is because you are getting close to alcohol poisoning. The reason he told me this is because my family is Native American and has a looong line of alcoholics. I’m also Scottish and Irish soooo kinda makes things worse for me

I remember once i was at my aunt’s house and I was thirsty. I saw a red cup and I thought it was Pepsi. So I drank it and when I realized, I thought I would die.😂
