I am turning 32 this month, but I been training since I was 20 and running 7 miles to 10 miles a day since and even participated in a boxing gym with real professionals for 4 years and got my ass kicked everyday and got sharp just by showing up every day. I’m talking about face busted in black eye talking about “let’s get it” so I know I have the “never give up mentality “ and one thing I learned about myself is that even if guys had more experience it didn’t matter because I was faster and relentless and destroy you before me. Literally starving and hungry even cleaned the gym after hours to pay my gym fees. Going in to a boxing gym or any combat sport takes your mind to a dark place a radiant abyss where men meet themselves

Well, after doing it all week yes, my knees indeed feel like jelly lmao and on Monday after I haven’t done it for a couple days, but my body warms up and I get used to it. It’s more mental than physical really. I know if I can get around my mind and just do it, don’t think just DO and It sucks, but it has to be done. I read and watch a lot of documentaries about the champions of the past and they all talk about the cardio being the most important aspect of training and sparring, so that’s where I push the hardest. I do 500 push ups everyday too, shadow box 45 minutes as well and a lot of other stuff. It’s a lot to squeeze in one day, but it’s how I prefer to use my time. I feel better on my thirties then I did in my twenties hahah
@lunaractivities7598
@lunaractivities7598 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks man. I definitely want to do it. I also have been learning to make adjustments in each encounter in sparring. Some guys that have more experience know how to adjust to my speed, so I have to figure out how to turn it back in to my fight, the feint works and then I take over the roll of the counter puncher and start timing them as well, then back to the speed haha you usually only have to make one adjustment most fighters don’t really have to many tricks up their sleeves. There is a formula I use and try to identify what this guy is doing to set things up on me and identify it and defuse it quickly before I get destroyed lol that’s where staying calm and composed comes in to play haha it’s fun to me most people are too tense in there 😬

I’m 22 years old, I started about 5-6 months ago. The first day I went to the gym, I sparred (I had already trained other combat sports, been in street fights and been teaching myself the technique through KZfaq) and my coach looked at me and told me ‘you can be champ one day’. And every since then I haven’t looked back, getting ready to have my first amateur match. Mind you guys, I have always excelled at sports. I was a 3 sport athlete and went on to play college ball. With that being said, I still feel fresh. I workout about 5-6 days a week and I’ve picked the sport up fairly quickly. Just do it. Everything seems like a long shot until you’re in there really doing it. Then it starts to feel like you’re unstoppable. Good luck to everybody, the next world champion IS in these comments somewhere 🥊

Too many people are overthinking this and making up obstacles because of when others started training. Most athletes that retire or stop competing at the same level do that because they are worn down from all of the years of training and competing, not because of their age. And don't judge you're abilities after you're sore all of the time when you just start or just return to training because that happens to everyone at any age.

I'm aiming to start amateur boxing and see how I do at it and go from there, not expecting any results but I think I realistically have a chance at winning golden gloves in my province at least so that's my goalpost. Been watching previous GG matches to see what the competition is like and will be rejoining a gym when lockdown allows here. Meanwhile i've been sparring my roommate every few days, doing drills, watching technique vids like yours, and keeping my fitness up. ' I'm 6'1" 148 lb. ambidextrous with a 76 inch reach, I come from a dancing background and started karate age 8 or 9, so boxing footwork is like childs play to me and I grew up a farmer using hand tools so my endurance and strength is something most can't exceed, except elite atheletes. I've had a vegan diet half my life, never smoked or got addicted to anything but pot BUT my real secret is that I've almost physically died 3 times, so my level of fear of danger is exponentially lower than most people, even fighters...I know I sound full of myself and I have a lot to prove but I'm gonna go for it, at least at the am level. I know at the pro's its more about how marketable you are than how good

It was extremely difficult to get matched up in the Amateur ranks. My 14 years boxing experience was me mostly getting beat up by bigger guys lol. I stopped boxing at age 23. I decided to get a career, which I did. Now I just turned 30 and I am thinking about getting in the ring and see where it takes me. At 5 8 weighing around 156 pounds I am thinking about fighting at 140-147, still undecided.

Noted! Don't hate me but I've only recently become more attuned to what good audio should sound like. I'm a total novice about this but I intend to shoot videos in other environments to resolve this issue. It's frustrating. Hard to find quiet spaces without any distractions and then to have it sound-engineered perfect....eghhh. I've been testing lav mics and will be using them for newer series. Thanks for your feedback!

@@expertboxing thanks for your positive response. Doesn't need to be perfect btw, there are $15 lapel mics that plug straight into your phone or cameras mic input that would dramatically increase the intelligibility if your audio. Oh, I just recently tried a cheap lav mic and it was so frustrating. Worked great for a little while and then lots of audio noises or just cuts out completely with no sound. They cheap ones aren't made for movement. And I learned my lesson after wasting many hours.

It just started when Manny Pacquiao hit the ring and outbox every one. I was so amazed by his speed and punches. I dreamed to be like him but its too late. For those that wants to be a pro, age 40 is kinda like the limit for those that want to become competitive fighters. After the age 40, you can still compete but you won't be able to compete in the main division where all the young guys are at. Age 40 and up is for master division where you are fighting with older guys. So this means that before you turn 40, you should have a good amatuer background that make you look marketable for someone to promote you into a pro. The bottom line is, if you want to turn pro then you gotta have amateur background and experience built up by the time you hit 40 and hope that someone turn you into a pro. So you want to start at least in your 30s and get some fights under your belt. If you start in your late 30s, it would most likely too late.

I like this guy and his video, but he makes it seem like you can do it but you also can’t do it. Boxing is completely different from wrestling and UFC. As a UFC fighter you had to learn over 10 different jujitsu techniques. With Boxing you need to learn less than eight, but you just have to make sure that you are faster bobbing and weaving and blocking. It’s really not that hard to become a boxer. The majority of your athletic skills from your feet in your fist/gloves. Try MMA and if your entire damn body. What this guy is trying to tell us sounds like you trying to be a UFC fighter

It's illegal to use moves that aren't allowed, it's not illegal to learn those things though.
