I think you’re right, when you watch a game without crowd noise you realise how low the energy of the atmosphere is, players will have to rely on their own motivation levels. This season will be a mess, You could easily end up with a situation of Liverpool winning 4 in a row then having multiple players have to isolate and their form massively dipping. Could even end up with a situation like in rugby where entire first teams have to isolate because one player on the pitch ended up having COVID.

That reminds me of when Liverpool played Chelsea with the: "Kepa, KePA, KEPA"

I'm not sure I agree, and I think it goes both ways. There's nothing to suggest that crowd noise has a positive effect on teams, or players individually, although for sure it changes the dynamics of the game. Take this game for example. If it's played with a crowd, then Leeds players are playing in the cauldron of Anfield. Does the noise of the Liverpool fans have a positive effect on Liverpool players? Probably, although not necessarily. Does that crowd noise have a positive effect on Leeds players? It's more likely it has a negative impact, although, again, not necessarily because some players thrive in that hostile environment and others do not. And that leads nicely into your last point about players being able to hear each other, which is absolutely true. This will lead to better communication and more chance for players to organise themselves. And with the crowd this is drowned out to a large degree, so that's probably more likely to lead to more mishaps due to more failed communication, on top of the adrenaline and mental pressure they might find themselves under with the noise of the crowd. I definitely agree with part of what you're saying in that a certain adrenaline isn't there with the crowd not in the stadium, but that's likely to be cancelled out or offset somewhat by the clearer communication players will have. You might say the defending team won't be as up for it as they might be if the crowd was there, but it affects the attacking team too, right? So they might not be under the same pressure anyways. Again things could be cancelled out. Will the end result be more mishaps? I ain't convinced.

I think he’s scared of being seen as too biased for his former team, so he takes things the other way. The first penalty, for instance, was a clear penalty. I also can’t stand that sucking in noise and lip smacking he makes when he’s thinking but that’s just me.

I had no problem with him criticising the defending because it was completely justified but it was almost like he enjoyed watching our defenders make mistakes the way he shouts and laughs? I was raging when he kept repeating “Liverpool haven’t put Leeds under any pressure”, what stupid commentary, we put their defence under massive pressure and should’ve scored 8 or 9 if not from terrible decision making and poor finishing by Wijnaldum, Mané and Firmino. If he’s going to criticise he can at least criticise the right things
