While in reality all clothes are actually unisex and anyone can wear whatever they want- everything has been unnecessarily gendered for a very long time. So oddly specific things like colors, patterns, and fabrics, have always been associated with masculinity or femininity, like the examples given at 1:18 and 2:48, but has never been associated with androgyny. It’s hard to navigate through gender neutral clothing in a heteronormative society, because if the colors of your clothes are too muted, then to society you’re presenting masculine, or if the fabric of your clothes are patterned, then to society you’re presenting feminine. So it’s not easy to find an in between of all of these societal rules. It’s definitely something I struggle with, I like the characteristics of feminine clothing a lot, but want to wear it in a masculine presenting way, dealing with gender dysphoria makes it all the more challenging lmao.

Gender neutral clothes: jeans, trousers, t-shirts, sweatshirts, most knitwear. Most colours. Most materials. Patterns like stripes, checks, paisley. Fedora hats and bakerboy/baseball caps. Sneakers, slippers, lowcut boots. Some jewelery. If you don't want to dress feminine or masculine (or mix it) you don't need to an extra designer for that.

@@Maceidio27 It's common sense if you have ever bothered to go shopping especially for children. My young female cousins have never liked wearing dresses, they preferred shorts & tee shirts, it was never an issue in buying them the clothes they wanted to wear as little girls. Even in regards to colour, there are so many options for parents. You really aren't forced to buy clothes that are gendered by colour, there are many neutral colours. We also have services like Etsy, Fiver & even retail stores that provide custom manufacturing for customers.

@@MrsRitchieBlackmore nonbibary as in not male or female. They used to dress me and my twin sister in ‘cute boy- for me and girly pink dresses type of cloths for my sister. Growing up we hated it. especially my sister who just wanted to play and climb trees and run just like me. Plus the whole ‘oh he’s a boy argo he must wear this and oh she’s a girl argo she must wear that’ mentality was so annoying and tiring growing up. It always felt like punishment especially because growing up we could see first-hand how different it was for her vs me. But it was pushed on us by parents, society. I wish there was a concept of androgenous ‘neither male or female’ clothing growing up. Today we don’t do that to our kids, it’s opressive, unnecessary and quite frqnkly - stupid.
